It’s a bit of a climb up from Freshwater beach to the Tennyson Monument at the top of the down but it makes for a great walk and there are a number of benches for a rest, including on three sides of the monument. Great views over the bay and across to Yarmouth

Interesting museum if you have an interest in photography. The Festival exhibition was great fun, the posters really took me back. Worth a visit.

Limited garden opening with the house not open until later in April, although there is an informative display in a building in the grounds about the frequent changes to Tennysons former residence. Interesting walled garden - limited water only refreshments at the ticket office

Colwell bay links with many of the small bays on thus side if The Island.
Visited a couple of times during our week on The Island. Each visit seemed to tie in with high tides, so would suggest checking the tides.
Small car park with a shop & cafe.
There is also a more swanky restaurant on the promenade “The hut” a little pricey, but excellent food. Make sure you book though as gets very busy.

We visited the Fort Victoria coastal defence building which has been converted to shops, cafes and other leisure facilities and is situated in the Fort Victoria Country Park. The building has a lot of history and it was nice to spend time enjoying the views and looking at what the units had to offer. Parking onsite was free which is an added bonus.

An interesting and unassuming little church. We noticed it as we walked past in search of a café and, attracted by its unusual and attractive exterior, decided to go in. It's small but still well worth a visit.

Headed here to cook a paella on our bucket BBQ while visiting the IOW with friends. Beach is clean and we had a fabulous afternoon in the sunshine and the paella was delicious!!

We had a truly wonderful experience with Jess's riding lessons. We enrolled our 6-year-old son for a trial session, and he was thrilled with the whole experience. Jess is super friendly and incredibly kind, making us feel completely at ease. We sincerely appreciate the care shown during our visit and look forward to returning.

Stumbled upon this Church of England church while unsuccessfully looking for lunch in a nearby establishment. Decided to take a look inside, glad I did. It happens to be a medieval church, one of the oldest on the island. Very picturesque, well maintained inside and out. It has quite an interesting history.

We have been here many times over the past few years and have had very good times and some not so, we have found out that the not so good times were due to some staffing issues! and now it is just the owners and a saturday girl, who helps out. The place is back to its hay day with friendly attentive service and excellent local food and drink, we are even planning to attend one of the cider tasting events ( sounds fun) which are held to taste numerous home produced and local ciders :) . We arrived early afternoon and there were several other family groups already enjoying the food and the children from these were running around the gardens. Our food was superb and thankfully of the standard that we used to enjoy previously and it looks like just having the owners doing it all, is paying dividends. Our friends really enjoyed the relaxed , mellow atmosphere, the food and the on site produced cider, We will be back.

The most scenic golf course in the isle of wight, massive challenge when the wind is blowing especially as front 9 is opposite direction to back 9. Only negative is poor quality expensive food.

Really friendly staff. Very Covid safe (plenty of sanitiser, easy to distance, screens at counters.) Decent latte from machine (filter coffee on offer too) Fresh cheese scone (still warm). Did not have cake but lovely selection on offer. Did not have the hot special but it looked nice (and generous portion for £6). Hot food on offer three times a week. Good for smaller budgets. Lots of space. Wheelchair accessible.
