We stopped at Much Wenlock after visiting Ironbridge and decided to visit the Priory ruins. Lovely peaceful setting with it's own car park although it was jam packed the day we went because there was a funeral at the nearby church so there was no room. We enjoyed a pleasant time strolling round the ruins and took plenty of photos.

Excellent show this afternoon by a small group of extremely skilled horsemen and ladies at The Cavalier Centre. Something for the whole family. An immensely enjoyable afternoon/evening.
The weather was dreadful minus degrees but well worth the journey despite the temperature. Very entertaining and awesome performance. Well Done and Thank you.

Only popped in because it said there was a free art exhibition on. Am certainly glad I did as the Guildhall is crammed full of history and well worth a visit. The lady on duty was more than helpful and so enthusiastic about the place…she also gave great advice of other places to visit in Wenlock. Overall a really nice and interesting visit

We spent an enjoyable half hour wandering around the grounds, looking at the beautiful old trees as well as the old graves.

In a beautiful setting. We were taken around the hall by the owner's wife. A nice, relaxed and informative tour. Lots of interesting tales, and quite a lot of pottery ( if you are interested in this!). Make sure you visit the dovecote near the Hall, and the church adjacent to the Hall is well worth a visit too. Worth making the effort to get here on one of the days it is open.

We booked a clay pigeon shoot as a family activity and we loved it. Jack and John were really knowledgeable and great tutors as we hadn’t done this activity before. We really enjoyed ourselves in spite of most of us dressing completely inappropriately for the conditions 🥴 we would recommend v warm clothes and wellies! But we still had great fun!

Worth the short uphill climb from the small NT car park to the best vantage point we found (or should I say stumbled across - signage was poor) called Major's leap. I'd heard of the legend but never visited before now. Some nice wooded areas to stop for a picnic too. Seemed popular with dog and ferret walkers (yes, you did read that correctly!)

This is not a typical National Trust property as it is a fully functioning Youth Hostel so there is limited access to the interior (from 2-4 some Wednesdays and most Sundays). No tea rooms or cakes but there is a bar selling bottled beer and some snacks. The exterior is quite stunning in excellent preservation with the distinctive tall chimneys and tower and it is in a beautiful county setting overlooking the hills. Peaceful.

Old and historic and well worth the voluntary donation. Warm and welcoming too. Stunning stained glass window and quite a lot to see.
A peaceful haven on a wet and windy day!

On the main High Street of Much Wenlock, the old Corn Exchange is an imposing building. The library entrance is on the ground floor, set back from the road under the first floor behind some imposing stone arches.

The first floor, as far as I know, is set aside as the Town Clerk's offices, and is not open to the general public.

Beautiful food, drinks and lovely service. We ate from the main menu and enjoyed cocktails from the Christmas menu - all were fantastic.

The pub is warm, cosy and clean and with everything listed on the menu, there was something for everyone.

We'd highly recommend the pub to anyone visiting the area, especially given that it's only 10 minutes from Much Wenlock - perfect.
