- Brian RNorthridge, CA894 contributionsI was driving around in Oregon on US 101 stopping at the various state parks. I had been to this one many times, but usually high tide. This time the time was out! If I had planned ahead I either would have come at high tide or I would have come as the tide was going out , so that I could have hiked down to explore the cave.Written July 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - hbhakhRoanoke, VA2,366 contributionsWe stayed in a hotel directly across from Nye Beach. It's a very pretty area. The beach is very wide with rolling dunes (small) across the sands. The sunsets are great.Written September 5, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- CassandraCorvallis, OR2 contributionsGreat views on the Pacific Ocean, you will have to pay to access the beach. There were options to get a parking pass and helpful staff at the drive up window. I love walking on the dark basalt cobbles, sometimes you can see wildlife on the rocks. - Robby G CToronto, Canada81,611 contributionsWe went early to the path named Ocean to Bay Trail. It wasn't that hard. At some places we had to walk up.
We were amidst the trees. Some of these trees were huge.
We were enjoying listening the birds,
Then we went back to our car. What a nice walk
Worthwhile to enjoy!Written March 10, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Once we got to the beach, it was pretty rocky with some sand. We were able to walk up and down the beach with surf nearby (so low tide seems best to be here and maybe find shells, etc.).Written March 14, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Brian JPortland, OR185 contributionsHard to visualize what this cool little cove looks like from above. Pretty easy walk for kids and middle aged adults ... would not recommend for the elderly. The ranger station permits access to drive to the bottom for the elderly. Take advantage of that, it's a pretty steep grade in the sun when the sun's out.Written July 24, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Cindy CHailey, ID212 contributionsAmazing little preserve right off the main highway. I did the main loop which offered lots of steep hills, quiet bogs and old growth forest. Many other side trails available.Written April 6, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Marco SGrass Valley, CA54 contributionsAbsolutely great course I wish this was my home course to play. Wide open yet some challenging holes. - Tim A1 contributionLast week I took my beach bike in to get the tube patched, and after a few days, I found it had gone flat with a slow leak.
I took it in today and they were unable to find the leak and didnt have a tube my size. Joe found an alternative tube the same size with an adapter that he was able to install and inflate in the time I was there.
Thank you Joe! You saved me another trip to town!Written July 9, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was a great way to spend the morning.Written August 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- bstradsNew Washoe City, NV63 contributionsWe got our limit on fish, both rock fish and lingcod. Captain and deckhands were super friendly, helpful and patient. We even got to see a whale! We’ve done charters in several different locations and this is by far our favorite. It’s worth the 10 hour drive to do it again.Written December 31, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JTinSLCSalt Lake City, UT189 contributionsThe fishing trip was good but you get sort of ripped off with pricing. We went for a half day bottom fishing and crabbing, didn’t tell us that besides the additional license, there is an addition of $20 added on., found out at the time to check in not on the phone in advance. Then to pack the fish it was supposed to be $5, was told that and it was on the sign as $5, but since ours weren’t filleted, it was $11! $1.25 Just left feeling a bit ripped off. Better communication would be much nicer.
But the fishing was good, great crew, good boat, nice day.Written May 23, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. They were very flexible when one couple had to drop out, and they made the reservation process very easy. Our guide Lane and her assistant Willis were very knowledgeable and experienced. In addition to telling us about the wildlife and commercial activities in the bay, they provided recommendations about the area that we used during our stay on the Oregon coast. The kayaks were very safe and easy to manage. I was thankful for the gear provided by the organization, as you do get quite wet (the kayaks are open). I definitely recommend that participants read all of the tips they provide and follow them. That will ensure an enjoyable experience. Overall, our group loved it!Written September 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
