One of my many stops on oregon coast drive. The formation is alot bigger than the photos displayed. Its about 40 ft across and you cannot keep looking down at the hole...mesmerizing

Nye Beach is a small neighborhood of Newport and the most charming part of town. By itself - it almost feels like it’s own small beach town. The beach is awesome for walking and the area has lots of great eats. Highly recommend Stefanies Cafe for breakfast and Nanas or Sorrellas for dinner.

This is a great spot to visit if you want to see tide pools and creatures on the beach such as seals. The only thing I did not like about it is there’s a lot of government control in what you can and cannot do and I wish the government would go away.

Nice area. Smaller beach, but this allows for a cozy romantic stop or picnic. Great for friends and family.

We went early to the path named Ocean to Bay Trail. It wasn't that hard. At some places we had to walk up.

We were amidst the trees. Some of these trees were huge.

We were enjoying listening the birds,

Then we went back to our car. What a nice walk

    Worthwhile to enjoy!

Hard to visualize what this cool little cove looks like from above. Pretty easy walk for kids and middle aged adults ... would not recommend for the elderly. The ranger station permits access to drive to the bottom for the elderly. Take advantage of that, it's a pretty steep grade in the sun when the sun's out.

Amazing little preserve right off the main highway. I did the main loop which offered lots of steep hills, quiet bogs and old growth forest. Many other side trails available.

My family and I played Agate Beach recently, and we thought it was a pretty good course. It is a 9-hole course, with pretty wide fairways and some challenging holes. A couple of the holes have uphill green, and a couple of other ones have some serious dog legs. The pricing is decent, but it is definitely a casual course. Several people who were playing were playing in jeans and t-shirts. The pro shop has a decent selection of apparel. If you are in this part of the Oregon Coast, play here.

Last week I took my beach bike in to get the tube patched, and after a few days, I found it had gone flat with a slow leak.

I took it in today and they were unable to find the leak and didnt have a tube my size. Joe found an alternative tube the same size with an adapter that he was able to install and inflate in the time I was there.

Thank you Joe! You saved me another trip to town!

Excellent tour enjoyed by all of our family group ranging in age from 7-81. We were fortunate to see a large number of whales. The grandkids loved the activities put on by the naturalists. Dropping crab traps in the water on the way out and checking on them on the way back. Holding the crabs content in knowing that they were going back in the ocean. A fun day had by all.

We got our limit on fish, both rock fish and lingcod. Captain and deckhands were super friendly, helpful and patient. We even got to see a whale! We’ve done charters in several different locations and this is by far our favorite. It’s worth the 10 hour drive to do it again.

Surf school was a terrific learning experience for me. The surf coaches are awesome. I attended three days of surf school spread out over this summer and had three terrific sets of coaches. The people at Ossies are very helpful and supportive. The vibe is very inclusive and supportive of beginners. The camaraderie of learning in a group was fun. I saw individuals learning alongside me, as well as groups of children, couples, and friends. Big respect to Ossies for creating an inclusive way to help people try surfing. I'm at day 15 as a beginner this summer and love surfing. I hope to keep learning through Ossies. Also, they put on cool events to check out, such as movie and music nights.

If you are thinking about trying surfing, know that a 44 year old dude with cancer took that path just before you through Ossies and it has changed his life! You can do it!

The fishing trip was good but you get sort of ripped off with pricing. We went for a half day bottom fishing and crabbing, didn’t tell us that besides the additional license, there is an addition of $20 added on., found out at the time to check in not on the phone in advance. Then to pack the fish it was supposed to be $5, was told that and it was on the sign as $5, but since ours weren’t filleted, it was $11! $1.25 Just left feeling a bit ripped off. Better communication would be much nicer.
But the fishing was good, great crew, good boat, nice day.

Great way to spend the afternoon. We enjoyed paddling, saw seal and sea lions, pelicans, cormorants and other birds. The guides were great.

My family of 4 went out with Abigail to tide pool as a birthday visit to the beach. Even if you tide pool regularly, you have no idea what you are missing if you haven't gone out with a knowledgable biologist. Abigail was skilled at spotting tide pool creatures, enthusiastic and engaging with our whole family including kids 8 y/o and 10 y/o. She pointed out edibles which was another bonus. I recommend going out with Northwest Eco Tours in the morning (following guide's recommendations for best time for tides of course) and then staying at the beach to continue hunting because you will then know what to look for, and its hard to stop!
