- fredinmnWoodbury, MN463 contributionsJust by chance, we pulled over to see Salt Creek Falls on our drive on highway 58. If it wasn't for the brown and white sign that said veer right for a waterfall, we would have missed it. To see the top of the falls is a minute or so walk from your car. It amazing. Even more amazing is hiking down to the bottom of the falls. The hike is on a well-defined trail and isn't extremely difficult. So worth the trip to the bottom to see it. Just spectacular! I would highly recommend ... it's well worth the $5 daily parking fee.Written September 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - oregontraveler18Madras, OR66 contributionsWaldo Lake is amazing! We stayed two nights in early September 2023, in the Shadow Bay Campground. The other two campgrounds at Waldo Lake were currently closed for repairs from previous wildfires. The water is beautifully clear and blue. Our days were sunny and pretty warm, but the wind does start picking up about Noon and makes kayaking or canoeing a bit challenging. Most of the shoreline trail has little inlets that you can walk down to the water. I liked all the little spots you can find for peace and solitude. Some small little beaches and other rocky areas. Lots of different species of trees. I estimate the elevation is about 4500 feet, so the mornings were really cold... 36 degrees!! Campground was pretty busy. Restrooms were clean. Keep your eyes open for the gorgeous view of Diamond Peak on the drive out!Written September 24, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JerryOakridge, OR144 contributionsCool place to visit. Can learn a bit about the various fish in the local area. Nice wooded trail area which passes along Salmon Cree - most relaxing, a great Zen fix. Hatchery also participates in lake/river restocking around the Willamette Forest.Written August 30, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tom BSalida, CO2,132 contributionsOriginally our trip to this reservoir was to include kayaking, but to our dismay the lake level was so low that we deemed un-safe to portage our boats to the waters edge. Quite steep to the waters edge at all the locations we looked at. So Plan B was to hike Larison Cr. trail, which we did. Great hike just across from the lake. Very heavily wooded, it was like going back in time. Ferns, moss covered branches and huge evergreens made this journey very enjoyable and quite different from our hikes in Colorado.Written September 11, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Guy SWorld1 contributionRented an Ibis Ripley to ride Alpine. Single best condition demo bike I’ve rented over the years. Helps that these are not Moab rock filled trails for sure but super well maintained and specced bike. Also very nicely set up for my weight and the conditions. Wonderful shop and employees. I would absolutely buy a used demo from them and that’s a rarity. I would let them work on my personal bike and take all their ride advice, it was excellent. Support them. Trust them.
Also for Alpine trail at least no need for more travel than a Ripley. A ripmo is overkill and honestly a hardtail would be fine. Sounds like the other trails get a bit rowdier.Written July 4, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The owner Holly is super personable and knowledgeable about all the artists she represents. I left with 4 pieces, 3 for me and one to gift.Written January 9, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
