One can pick their own bouquets or buy from the amazing selection of lavender products. - Christofer7 contributionsWe decided to plan a fly fishing trip on the McKenzie River and the owners at Eagle Rock Lodge suggested Spencer Outfitters to guide us.
We called and asked the owner, Bob Spencer, questions about the river and the fishing opportunities. Bob responded to all our questions and we enjoyed hearing the fishing prospects.
Bob has a very calming voice and we felt confident with his knowledge and experience so we chose Bob to be our drift boat guide for our three day fly fishing adventure.
When Bob picked us up at the lodge we could tell after meeting Bob that he was not only experienced but also had a very dry sense of humor. We also learned quite rapidly that Bob was a total professional and knows the river like the back of his hand; he knows the locations and the best techniques to catch fish. So much so when we were in the rapids Bob knew where he was going and guided the boat exactly where he wanted all the while Bob’s calm demeanor continued.
Not overbearing and only gave suggestions when needed, we both enjoyed Bob’s methods. Because of Bob’s expertise and experience we caught many fish and had a great time. In fact, we caught a 24" 9lb. steelhead trout utilizing the “Rouge River Twitch.”
The river side lunches were also great.
If you plan to fish the McKenzie River we highly recommend Bob Spencer Outfitters. You won’t be disappointed!
