Musselman-Vesta Iron Furnace offers a glimpse into the important nineteenth-century iron industry along the Susquehanna River in Lancaster County.  The Musselman/Vesta Furnace was built in 1868. The furnace was active for nearly a century. The property was eventually acquired by Lancaster County with major renovations to the historical office building. The immediate surroundings contain remnants of the furnace as well as the railroad and canal that help bring needed raw materials to the site. The wider area has become the Marietta Iron Furnace Park with biking and hiking trails and expanses of wildflowers. Former housing for staff of the furnace is located nearby and is still inhabited. Numerous informational plaques are found on the property to help tell its history.

Marietta's Old Town Hall, built in 1847, now houses a museum that preserves and presents the over three centuries of the area's history. The three and a half story building is situated at the top of a triangle of streets (Market, New Haven, Waterford) that slopes upward from the Susquehanna River. Historical plaques surrounding the hall provide the history of the area and town dating from the 1600s as well as commemorate the contributions of townspeople in restoring the building and establishing the museum. After reading these, the significance of two of the streets, New Haven and Waterford, becomes apparent as these were two towns that combined in 1812 to form Marietta Township. Another plaque described the patriotism of Marietta’s women during the Civil War. The museum contains both archives and artifacts and is maintained by Marietta Restoration Associates who have contributed to restoring the town's large historic district, which fans out from this important center. Street parking was easy to find, and walking through the area is a pleasant journey back in time.

This is an unusual escape room in a beautiful historical building. The clues were difficult and non-sequential, so our team split up and everyone found something that helped! We had a blast!

Have been here 4 times & discovered this awesome place after several people recommended it. Cory & Tammy are the servers & bartenders, lovingly seem to know the patrons and remembered us on our 2nd visit. Always have several seasonal specialty drinks, with or without alcohol. Adding alcohol is only $4. The food is perfect, especially the Thursday night special, the ‘Wreck Sandwich, which is better than any pit beef sandwich this former Baltimore Girl ever had! Prices are a dream in today’s inflated economy. You will not complain a whit. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, especially with the wood burning fireplace. I look forward to going here & sharing our experience. Historians will live adding it to their knowledge base, too.

We actually heard about this shop through some furniture we purchased at a consignment shop. After collecting a few pieces, that way, we then had a dining room table, made to match. The craftsmanship is excellent and every piece on the furniture is solid wood. The quality of wood is excellent. The finish that they put on the furniture is amazing. It stands up to just about anything except a very hot dish.
