We arrived at the Somerset Historical Center on an overcast afternoon on the first Saturday in July. It was a perfect indoor activity for preteen girls. Carol and John were excellent hosts. We enjoyed all of the educational displays in the building, and we enjoyed walking around the grounds, as well. The girls especially enjoyed walking over the covered bridge.

This is a quaint local winery. The tastings are really nice. Only $5 and you can try five different wines. Tastings are only done in the building, but glasses of wine can be taken all over their property. The lawn is beautiful, and the venue is very well kept.

We camped here for a week in September 2023. The park is beautiful in the forested areas. Unfortunately we were here during hunting season which made it a bit difficult as to what trails were safe to go on. The trails that we did hike were nice and well maintained. The campground was not as pretty as the rest of the park. Our site was in a big open area with few trees and no privacy. It was on a hill and very difficult to get leveled. But it did have full hookups which is always nice and unexpected at a state park. The bathroom was in serious need of a rehab. The windows had no screens, and there were bugs everywhere. Believe me it was no fun using the facilities only to notice several ticks crawling up the wall next to you! If I were rating the campground only, instead of the whole park, I would have given it a 2 or 3 instead of a 4. The park is in a great location for visiting several other state parks as well. It is also located near the Flight 93 Memorial, a must see place to visit. I would visit this park again, but I am not sure that I would camp here again. Probably try one of the other state parks in the area.

We stopped by one afternoon and met Vicky just as she was closing for the day. She invited us to come the next day for a guided tour at 11 am She recommended we might want to watch the YouTube video "The Quecreek Mine Rescue" before we came. We did that and it made our tour the next day so much better because we had some background of what happened.. She was so informative and there was so much to see both in the museum on on the grounds where the rescue took place. Highly recommend going to see this!

While coming back a road trip, my husband and I stopped at the highest point in Pennsylvania at 3,213'. On the way there, you drive through nice, scenic Amish country. The highest point features a tower that you can climb up. It was a sunny, clear day and we were able to view a lot of the surrounding area.

My 6 year old and my fur baby both really enjoyed our time here! There's 2 different "runs" one for large dogs and one for small. I say "runs" very loosely, they're very large, grassy and lots of toys. We will make it a point to go back again soon.

Good place to stop for a picnic lunch which is what we did after visiting living treasures animal park. Kids ate their lunch and then took time to enjoy exploring. Not a very big park but large enough for them to stretch their legs.

We happened upon this covered bridge touring the back roads around Somerset. The bright red facade stood out beautifully on a clear, blue sky, fall day. You can walk inside and across the stream that it bridges. A colorful sight to see!

I was walking around Somerset and enjoyed looking and taking pictures to post on TripAdvisor of the displays in the many windows. This would be a great place for any train enthusiast to enjoy.

This has nicely maintained, wide hiking trails that form a loop, giving one a chance to see a great deal of nature. One of the unique aspects is the labeling of trees with large signs with both common and Latin name. No getting down to inspect a tiny label. Great for kids to learn trees. In the fall the leaves make the trail even nicer to walk on. The parking is someone limited, however.
