- MichaelTQ92Drums, PA63 contributionsBeen going to the Kirby Center for many years to see concerts and comedians. Great place for entertainment in downtown Wilkes-Barre.Written August 6, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Chuck Didn't Suck T.Pocono Mountains Region, PA148 contributionsThere was a healthy mix of good and bad here (part of the bad being the horrendous product the penguins are putting on the ice) so I just want to touch on a few things.
I didn't eat, but there was a Chickie and Pete's which is typically good. If they had cheesesteaks I probably would have gotten one, but I wasn't really in the mood for the crab fries. The seats were excellent. For under $100 I had 3 seats where I could practically breathe on the back of the coaches necks from the opposing team. The parking was free and we parked fairly close to the front. Process to go through security and to get the tickets read with the machines was easy and painless. The food and drink prices all seemed fairly reasonable for an arena.
So just one thing that kept this from 5 star. There was a drink that sounded fun and different...and it was bad. Maybe the other flavors were good, this was not. They had "Boozy snow cones" which I was pumped about. I got the spiked cherry cola. Unfortunately the cherry flavoring made it taste very medicinal, like Robitussin. It was a $9 drink which honestly even by bar standards isn't "that" bad, but it was upsetting to get this drink.
All in all though, solid place to catch a game.Written November 17, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Louis S6 contributionsThis is a very nice hotel. All of the rooms have been recently renovated. The restaurants that I have tried have all been really good. The only bad thing is there is very limited options for breakfast.Written February 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Duncan M2 contributionsHaving seen shows here since 1973, it is easy to see why this is one of the longest continuing amateur theatre groups in the U,S, Local talent may come and go, but directors always seem to hone the best from the actors. From serious plays like To Kill a Mockingbird to comedies like Butterflies Are Free to current musicals like Rent, I have almost always left the theatre pleased and anticipate the next productionWritten March 28, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TAP647Chicago, IL500 contributionsIf you are in the area and have 30-45 minutes to spare, this is worth a visit. The gallery is part of a university. It is free. The exhibit I saw was thoughtful and organized very nicely. I enjoyed my visit.Written November 21, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MstravelerPhillipsburg, NJ19 contributionsImpressive monument tribute to our fallen soldiers. Displayed on the grounds of the courthouse and the flowers and foliage are very comforting and soothing.Written July 31, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Northern_Traveler00California75,431 contributionsVisiting town and looked for a place to “walk off dinner” and saw this big green space on the map so we drove over. Great walking paths, including a nice one on the River levee. Not much access up there, the stairs you see in the middle don’t quite get to the top, but if you can get from Market street to the railroad bridge you will have a nice walk.Written August 24, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - bl78ljbBangor, ME61 contributionsWe arrived late afternoon after finally asking someone on the King's College campus for directions only to find it was padlocked shut. The area is small but nicely done. I wish we could have been able to read the plaques. If you have trouble finding it, it is adjacent to Chick-fil-a in the public square.Written April 22, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BunnyKingston, PA6 contributionsPublic Square was always a great place. Farmer's Market on Thursday, benches for people to enjoy the outdoors, but since the disruptions in our lives, it doesn't seem safe any more.Written July 15, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
