    One of the best beaches we went to.
    Beautiful sand and cove. The colors are amazing. Look for the time and tide bell. Also make sure and tour the Iron Age house - very well presented and worth the trip

    Remote but worth the trip
    Really remote but worth the trip. This is the site of an old village which is now in the dunes and was uncovered in a storm. One house from around 600AD has had its roof replaced and has been restored. It’s quite an experience entering the house and imagining how they lived and what their priorities were in those days. The host who is there every day tells you about how they lived and some really interesting details about the design etc.
    As a bonus the beach it is on is lovely to. Great experience for £4 a head.

    Beautiful Bernera
    The view of the bridges from the stones is spectacular. The stones themselves are right beside the road on the Great Bernera side of the bridge. There is parking and picnic tables at the site. Toilets are available at the Community Centre about two miles away when it's open. Or at Bosta beach at the top end of the island about 5 miles from the bridge. Great Bernera is a beautiful island with lovely walks a beautiful beach and lots of history. There's a Cafe and museum at the Community Centre and a replica Iron Age Dwelling beside the sandy beach at Bosta.

    Wonderful Weaves
    The weaving is fantastic. Beautiful scenes and colours in the hangings. You can buy wool and also some knitted goods. Sallie is skilled at her craft and also very informative. We loved our visit here, I came away with a knitted hat that my husband thinks is great.
