- Burgerwas42Athens, TN114 contributionsCheck the calendar for a theater performance, movie, concert, or other event taking place at the Princess Theater. There are a variety of activities with some sure to fit all tastes. Activities range from free admission to fee for performance. With new tenants the amount and variety of shows being offered are increasing. - JimHPlano, TX257 contributionsThis is not for connoisseurs or art fanciers. It is full of local artifacts and some stage sets from past country and western performances. There is not always someone there but they will open if you contact them.
In the back is an event center were you can have a private party or attend a local group performance.

Someone was in the process of sweeping the water back outside. And don't judge a book by its cover because it doesn't look like much from the outside. The 2 men working inside were so nice and we had a great time chatting with them.
There is a lot of stuff in the small space but it really didn't give me the feeling of being too cluttered. They had some very unique items as well as collectibles, furniture, coins, art, glassware, toys, advertising, kitchenware, rustic, and so much more. We really enjoyed looking at everything they had. It may not be for everyone but we would definitely go back again.Written September 18, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Unfortunately the building itself is no longer open to the public due to needed renovations, but it is still worth a visit when you are in the area. There is plenty of other things to do on your visit.
The Temperance Building was originally built by the East Tennessee Land Company in the early 1890s to serve as their offices as they developed Harriman as a planned Temperance community. Later it served as the home of American University, and has also held several other uses throughout its history.Written September 4, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Absolutely the most unique shop I have ever been in. My granddaughter wants her room to look like Ms. Pats shop. That says it all.Written November 8, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Burgerwas42Athens, TN114 contributionsFor something different than the big box selection, this is a great stop. My ten year old daughter and wife both love to visit.
