Do not miss this somewhat hidden gem. You can spend a long time in meditative silence but do protect against mosquitoes.

Beautiful beach, clean with beach access for vehicles. You’ll have to get a permit $12. Water is super clean, & clear. There’s trash cans everywhere & the locals are super friendly!

Where else can you find a free ferry with good views. You often get a Dolphin show on the way over. Also up close and personal to the ships that sail into Corpus Christi. Waited almost an hour once but that was a busy day for the big ships that get right of way.

    This was great!
Close up view of creatures and fish, hands-on tank, educational fun activities, and great staff. We'll definitely go back.

Overall experience was enjoyable, but the sand was rocky and the water was murky. It is a great place to catch crabs, though.

We arrived just as preparations were being made for the Santa Claus Parade. One set of public washrooms was closed but there were porta-potties on site.
We enjoyed watching the many fishermen at work and spotted a couple of herons and egrets. But the dolphins were the main attraction with at least four moving in and out of the harbor and around the small boats coming and going. We were also fortunate to see a big ship being piloted through the channel. Something for everyone here, highly recommend!

Enjoyed this place while visiting the area. Lots of beautiful sights and plenty of parking. Had a nice pavilion for a picnic as well.

The over all trip was good, I've been on a few charters like this so I knew how the fish should be. When we got to the first fishing grounds not one person got a bite, not one now this boat had over70 people on it. Everyone is looking around at each other and saying is this what we paid for? We kept telling the deck hands the captain needs to move to another spot, we sat there getting no bites for about an hour. The captain finally moves the boat after on 2 fish caught after an hour with 70 + people on it. My thing is move the boat if the people paying 150 each is not catching until you find them. I did end up catching like 4 fish but alot of people didn't catch anything and I mean alot say 20 or more people didn't.

If you don’t buy your tickets on line, be prepared to have cash or use the ATM on site. Also, purchase a beach parking permit, otherwise parking is limited and the walk will be far.
The sculptures were professional and we had a great time walking around viewing them. The band on Saturday afternoon was very good and it was good to be able to relax in the shade.

Took about 2 hours. Very nice, only difficult part is getting across the cannel. Start early and start downwind, pass if wind is over 8 MPH to stasrt.

Pole rentals are pricey. Go to Island Tackle if you need to rent a pole. Otherwise, it's a great pier

It's a nice island with many interesting things to do. I traveled with 3 granddaughters. We rented a golf cart to get around the island and were able to do and see everything. You are able to drive on the beaches! We visited the FIRE IT! ceramics shop and the girls painted their own souvenirs of the trip. We visited the ARK tour @ The University of Texas at Austin Marine Science Institute. This is an actual graduate level program you are able to experience, and the kiddos get to see live sea turtles. We ate at local restaurants every night-Crazy Cajon had the best seafood boil ever! They also have a tamed down version for the kids. We stayed at the Best Western which had a heated swimming pool and the girls loved being able to swim late at night. They also offered FREE cold bottled water and have a small library which we all enjoyed. It was a great trip and I would go back. It wasn't a crazy spring break party town when I was there and I was glad for that.
