- GoPlaces46558321667Austin, TX14 contributionsFriends and I took a tour of Caddo Lake on one of the small, shallow boats. It was wonderful! Our guide was local person whose family had been in the area for generations. He told us stories that were entertaining and informative while moving through the bayous. We saw beautiful birds and plant life, and heard about the invasive plants that are causing issues in the environment. He gave us the opportunity to touch the flowers, and lily pads, and the Spanish moss hanging from the trees. He cut the motor so we could experience the silence on the lake. If you have always lived in a city, this was experience that you will not forget. - Kevin SThe Woodlands, TX20 contributionsMichael is a great tour guide. We took an evening tour; lasted 90 minutes. Michael is very knowledgeable of the history and ecology of Caddo Lake. His boat is comfortable; just sit back, relax, enjoy the scenery, and listen to history.
