So picturesque and stunning. Very nice little walk after a meal. Numerous vintage items around to look at. I highly recommend stopping here.

Spent two days touring the mountings in southern Virginia. While touring on a scenic highway we accidentally came to “Lovers Leap” viewers area. While there I meet two young ladies who new the story about Lovers Leap and even pulled the story up on their cellphone and read it to me. Had great time touring the area.

We, with another couple, came for the Labor Day weekend. 2 weeks before we arrived I broke my leg. I called and asked if a handicapped room was available. They said they would do their best and at least they’d put in a shower chair. That was fine and when we arrived we did have an accessible room. That was most appreciated.
The room was large with 2 bathrooms a living area with little kitchenette ( small fridge, Nespresso machine, little sink and some complimentary snacks ). The bedroom had a nice king bed with Frette sheets ( at least I think they were. They were very nice ). The bathroom was completely accessible. The only downside of that is water goes everywhere and on slate floors it’s slick. The other bathroom complaint is the lighting. The whole suite was so dimly lit that it was hard to do makeup. We thought maybe we were missing a switch but our friends’ room was the same. The other room points are picayune but would help the hotel. There are no coasters in the room and hence lots of water spots on the tables. They don’t have real creamers in the room ( just coffee mate ). That results in having to ask for cream brought up and is more work for the hotel. The housekeeping service was excellent. They cleaned the room and did turndown daily.
All the staff was super pleasant and we will return.

Fred Clifton Park is a small park along US-58 adjacent to Lover's Leap Overlook. We stopped here while driving past as it was easier to park than at the roadside overlook. A short path leads to two scenic overlooks with great views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and valleys. It's definitely worth a short stop if driving by on the highway.

Amazing, scenic and very challenging. Most beautiful location for a course east of the Mississippi. A must play for any serious golfer.

We had pizza and a beer at Cockram Mill and really enjoyed it. The hours are limited but I would say it deserves a visit. The food is good and the staff very friendly.

Stopped in on a snowy Sunday! Got some great treats! The employees were friendly and there’s always a big selection to choose from. Try to get there about twice a year as it’s a bit of a drive, but always worth it!

Just like on Appalachian channel. Blacksmith was there on Sunday morning.Bought a few things he made there. Really nice. Pottery and other treasures went back with us too. Wife got stuck in the bathroom. Hilarious. She made it out so we carried her home with everyone else. Will go visit again.

We eat breakfast here every weekend we are up in MOD! The best breakfast sandwiches and biscuits! Love the store and always finding fresh in-season produce. Their peaches and apples are a staple for us! Staff is wonderful and they are consistently open!

What a great shop. Top quality hand-crafted items. Unique selection of boutique clothes, shoes and Western hats. You can even get nice jewelry and soaps. Will definitely return when in the area.

Owner Leslie Shelor is a great lady, very knowledgeable in all things yarn, fibers and hand dying and spinning fibers and the history of Meadows of Dan. What a treat to go visit her and her dog companions Knightley & Emma.

A very unique shop, I always find something to purchase. If it's not yarn (Of Course, lol) it's items I need for crafting, crocheting or knitting, and such. She carries new yarns from local handspinners (My Favorite besides Leslie's of course, is yarn cakes by Ann Catlett) Leslie also raises Angora rabbits.. Quark and Quentin.. She has 2 goats Rose & Clara and has several chickens too..

Then she has a great collection of old and vintage books. She also carries an eclectic collection of handmade hats, scarves, clothes, and knitted dishcloths, along with vintage collectibles from toys to jewelry to vintage gifts to handmade cards.
