What travellers are saying
- We learned so much about the process of making and storing port wine. Then on to the best part- tasting several types and getting to pair it with chocolates and cheese. Our guide Sergio was knowledgeable and friendly. Great tour and a must- do in Porto!Written March 18, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bucko007Sudbury, CanadaNice tour of the facility. Our guide, Alice was knowledgeable and humorous. The wine tasting afterwards was also good. - Excellent tour of the Port Lodge led by guide Francisco on 29th January. The Lodge itself is a fascinating place, very atmospheric and grand in scale. The museum is a treat - look out for the 1960s video of the wine barrels being brought down the Duoro river.
Francisco is a great presenter and explained the Port making process perfectly. Just the right level of detail.
I enjoyed the tasting session, with the option to buy your favorite variety at the bar too:)Written January 30, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Aftre the tour and tasting there is a shop where you can buy all kinds of different souvenirs and port wines.Written January 19, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Angela CHeber City, UTWe learned a lot about port and our guide was very well informed and gave an excellent narration. We had 12 in the group with some opting for the 2 taste pairing and some the three. We had the three - all very nice. It just seemed a little rushed at the end when explaining the actual ports we were tasting. However, you can linger over the tasting for as long as you like. No rush, we chatted with others in our group. Overall a pleasant experience.Written March 16, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MariaNorwayThe ride went by really quick. We bought a round trip, but if we had known that we had to exit the car on our way back, then we would have just bought the one way ticket. The staff was nice tho but wish the trip took a little longer.
The views were amazing and we loved having the car for ourselves.Written March 19, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There’s a little square right in front where people get together to enjoy the sunset.

- The museum was amazing! I could have spent hours there is so much to learn about the grapes, climate, processes, cultures and even cork! This is about more than Portugal’s wines -which are ex Ellen’s- it is about all wines around the globe. Don’t miss it if you plan to visit Porto. It is truly a sensory experience!Written March 21, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- MartinBarrow upon Humber, UKA pleasant venue to visit as the original business location for Ramos Pinto. It’s an interesting take on a port house visit finding out a bit more about the founder and the origin of the product. The office space is preserved as a museum and the guide gives a great insight of the history before heading in to the cellars.
The guide was knowledgeable and gave good information on port making and the difference between ports, the colouration, flavour and aging.
The tasting was well organised with three ports to try but I felt the group was a bit large to get the final input on the ports themselves as we tasted, it is after all the key part of the visit.Written September 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The men chose burgers and the wives had the veggie buffet which was superb
