We had the most wonderful afternoon with Captain Dave. Dave is so friendly and very knowledgeable about fishing. He showed us an incredible view of a very large pod of dolphins feeding in the bay. Then he showed us a school of tuna feeding near the surface. We saw eagles and Egret nests along with these beautiful birds. Dave showed us where he fishes for lobster and cod. He even showed us how cod jiggin is done! He caught a nice cod and then released the fish back into the sea. We can’t say enough about Captain Dave and his tour. We highly recommend taking this tour. It was an adventure we will never forget! Thank you Captain Dave for a most memorable experience!

We had an excellent time - perfect weather for July and there were lots of whales & birds! The crew were a fantastic bunch, very informative and funny! Originally being from Newfoundland, I never thought about doing whale tours, but I’m so glad I did go during this trip home! I would recommend it to tourists and NLer’s

This spot offers boat tours as well as ATV's. We did the ATVs. It took us through the woods up on the hills, across barrens, visited an old amusement park site (which I never knew existed), through dense woods, etc.
The guide was very nice and knew his history. Often you see Moose or other animals but not this time unfortunately.

An awesome tour, friendly folks who run this company and great employees. We had a lot of fun on the tour and it was great to see an iceberg up close.

I had reached out to a few tour operators before our trip to Nfld and was most impressed with Skipper Jim's customer service. My husband and I, and our boys (aged 12 and 15) spent 2 hours on the water with Skipper Jim last week and it was the highlight of our vacation. Originally we had asked to do some cod fishing and sea some osprey or eagles but the boys were having so much fun (and so much success) fishing that we just kept reeling in the cod and reached our limit. We caught some huge fish and it was so much fun. Jim was just as excited as my kids were with every fish we pulled in. Afterward he filleted and cleaned the fish and we took a bunch with us for a meal and we froze some and brought it home with us. I can't recommend Skipper Jim enough - the private tour on a small boat is unbeatable and the price was fantastic. Excellent value. One note regarding fishing - be sure you check regulations for cod before planning your visit. We just so happened to get lucky that we booked on a Monday which is a day you can actually fish for cod.

We were booked for the sunset excursion but even throughout the day the team at Rock Adventures was keeping us up to date by text and email. The winds were strong and while they said they'd do everything they could to get us on the water, they wouldn't push the boundaries of safety. They just didn't want us to be surprised so they messaged us often.

In the end we couldn't go out that evening but they were nothing other than accommodating and professional. They can't control the weather after all and we'd rather an organization that treats safety as a priority. We immediately rebooked for the following day (mid-day).

We are SO HAPPY we did ... it was FANTASTIC !!!

Amy was our guide and she was informative, reassuring, and extremely personable. What a PLEASURE it was! Amy ensured the security of all participants (we were all adults) and set the pace for us while taking into consideration abilities of each couple.

The scenery was picture perfect. We paddled close to icebergs that just blew our minds, and were even lucky enough to meander through a patch of small "bergy bits" that had fallen from a larger iceberg earlier that morning.

We strongly recommend the kayak excursion for the serene experience of floating near these majestic marvels of nature without being bothered by noisy motor boats. Just our own paddle power and the AWESOME beauty around us.

    Thank you AMY !!!

This gourmet supper on the beach was one of the highlights of our trip. Everything we needed for the evening was provided - chairs, quilts/blankets, a warm fire, cutlery, hand washing station, iceberg ice, sparkling water, and a large tent with a wood stove to sit inside in case of rain. A lot of work goes into setting up the supper. Fresh ingredients are sourced locally. Two fires are started - one for cooking, and the other for warmth & ambience. The menu varies based on the season, and what can be sourced fresh and local. For our meal we were served: bread toasted over the fire, pickled mussels and homemade pickles, the best fish cake I've ever had, lobster (already cracked and easy to eat), salad and dessert. We got lost trying to find the location to meet because we didn't have any cell service. One of us uses Rogers cell service, the other uses Bell. Make sure you have your directions or map saved on your phone ahead of time. The chefs were gracious about our late arrival. They were knowledgeable about cooking over a fire and very personable. At first, the price of this dinner seems steep. However, once you consider the amount of labour needed for setup, take down and cooking, plus the costs of the menu items, you realize that this experienced is priced correctly. Treat yourself. You'll enjoy it.
