Did the Lynd Point/Fern trail. Some nice views of the lake. Can even walk out on some rocks and a beachy area made of shells. Trail is rocky with lots of roots, but certainly do-able. Coming back on the Fern trail part, you are walking on a long boardwalk for much of it.

If you're willing to do a little more work than just go to the main overlook, there is much to see here. You can go all the way down to the shoreline, with lots of places to stack rocks, skip rocks, etc. Great views of the bay.

This little museum was better than expected, and definitely worth a visit. The shipwreck section is small but good. The staff was very friendly. I enjoyed it and would recommend it for a short visit.

This is a beautiful place with majestic views on what seemed like unofficial trails, although we did find a bench at the top. You can climb up through the cedars over roots, or find a path to climb down to the water. Not many people here the first Sunday in June. Just be warned, the path up is bordered by perilous drop offs onto the rocky beach below… super dangerous for little kids who don’t know to stay away from the edge. We were very glad to be traveling just the two of us, or we would have left to find a safer option!

I loved this place. It’s old. It’s charming. Beautiful. It sits off the main road (42) but it’s still very close to it. The pottery is stunning. I’m not really sure what the average price range for hand made / thrown pottery is but I personally thought it was a bit high. I did find a small square tray that I loved and splurged on it. Door County has several pottery studios and this one was my favorite. They had a lot of pieces to look at and ponder and for sale.

A very unique style that has universal appeal.... And at reasonable prices. Take a few minutes to browse their diverse collection. You'll be glad you did!

Easy to get to with parking in front of the store. I didn't have any problems parking my 25' motor coach, but on a really busy weekend, it might be dicey. There's a visitor information parking lot on the highway about a block south that could be useful and it looked like there was some on street parking in that area, also.

We visited the Island Orchard Cider on a recent trip to Door County. The tasting room has two areas. We were very comfortable at one of the long tasting tables. The ciders have unique flavors and crisp. We did a flight tasting. It was a nice way to spend some time in the area. We did purchase a couple of bottles to take home.

Fun stop! Take the stairs down to the water. Lots of historical information on a display near the parking lot.

This stretch of road is much less congested off-season.
It is kind of fun to traverse a "postcard" road.
It was designed so one has to slow-down and take-in the surroundings. If one is the driver, however, the curves force one to pay even more attention to the road, versus the scenery.
Even if one is not planning on taking the Washington Island ferry, it might be worth a drive up to experience the "postcard".

No lake fee to launch. Easy access but concrete was very slippery as are the rocks as you go in past that. Be careful. One picnic table and one porta john. Very clear water all around the lake. Lots of reeds around the edges. Not much wildlife in our August trip. Gentle breeze. Gorgeous location. Water was wonderful to swim in.

Ellison Bay, already home to the Linden Gallery of East Asian art and artifacts, now expands the visitor's international range with this well-designed multi-room gallery of Indian and South Asian art. More than a dozen different artists are displayed along with photos of the owner who is a professionally trained photographer. The gallery has an impressive range of media including acrylics, oils, fabric and woodcuts. I loved a trio of woodcuts that showed subtle multi-plate technique and my wife did purchase a hand-printed purse.

The Sutra Gallery is the front half of a small house just off Hwy 42 in Ellison Bay. Parking is on the street or in the back. Go through the doors that have the hours posted on them. The owner, also the shopkeeper, is knowledgeable about works that she displays and said that contacts with oversees artists will provide a ever-changing art display. This will be a gallery that we will visit as we work the northern tip of Door County.
