Saw Corrosion of Conformity at Big Heart City in August 1991. We were from out of town and saw the show advertised on a handbill on the Blind tour. The club had techno dancing upstairs, Industrial on the main level and live thrash metal downstairs. Scott Ian introduced the band. There were eight inch wooden pillars, holding up the ceiling, in the middle of the mosh pit and people were getting creamed and bloody. There were fire sprinkler system pipes on the ceiling that we could grab from onstage then pull yourself out over the croud, let go and insert yourself inside the pit. The Accused were playing Oakland the same night. Everyone we met was suprised we were in town for the Grateful Dead concerts at Shoreline and were also moshing bloody in the pit.
very cool club at the time. Have not been back since.
