- Sharon CGrand Island, NY32 contributionsCame to the San Francisco Bay area a few days early before heading out on a cruise. We booked the Muir Woods trip because my husband always wanted to see the Redwoods and Sequoia's. It was a fabulous trip. The bus picked us up minutes from our hotel. We stopped for a photo op to see the Golden Gate Bridge. Then on to Muir Woods. Definitely a tour worth doing. We had plenty of time to walk around the woods. On the way back we stopped in Sausalito. We opted to take the ferry back to San Francisco. Spent the day walking around, then lunching at a fabulous restaurant. - Donna T1 contributionThis was a very good, in depth audio tour of the inside of the prison. transportation to and from Alcatraz Island was clean and reliable. My Grandboys 17.18,9 loved the experience as did I.
The tour package we purchased included a cruise under the Golden Gate Bridge. The Alcatraz ferry trip over to the prison started on time at 3:20. Booking the trip was simple and we received a text the day before with clear instructions for pick up.
The mini bus is small but comfortable, plenty of room for luggage and has good air-con.
The trip was smooth, beautiful, fun, interesting and informative.
We saw some of the most incredible sites we have ever seen and feel so lucky.
Our tour guide Alfredo was spectacular! Knowledgeable, funny, patient and passionate. He was absolutely brilliant and made the experience even better.

Ended up buying this package on TripAdvisor which had availability instead. Wasn't so sure about it at first but the owner of the shop is so so friendly and everything worked out really smoothly. Ended up cycling across the golden gate bridge which was amazing. If you can sort out overnight bike storage then you can return them by 10am the next day. - MDLavey10 contributionsGreat tour! You have to stand outside and keep a sharp eye out but we saw dolphins, sea lions, pelicans, cormorants, gulls, and many other sea birds. The operators spent plenty of time in the photo op locations and had short and sweet informational blurbs about the high points. Great views of Alcatraz Island, Sausalito, and the Golden Gate Bridge. A lot of walking uphills. The tour guide was great and I especially loved the walking Audio .

His knowledge of San Francisco and Yosemite made our trip so fascinating. Andy expressed genuine care and concern for his passengers and supplied water for us so that we would not become dehydrated in the heat. We are a couple from Virginia ( George & Bonita Trusty) and this was our first trip out west. We traveled from Ricmond , VA via Amtrak and other other tours. But because of Andy, this was the best tour ever. Extranomical please recognize the great asset Andy Howse is to your company. To everyone in SF who contacts Extranomical for a tour, REQUEST Andy Howse. - Nick BCambridge, UK19 contributionsLovely evening cruise on the Catamaran with options for those brave enough to go outside and feel the spray in their face! Great to go under the Golden Gate Bridge and see the views of San Francisco, Oakland and various islands in the daylight and as the sun went down. Devon hosted us on the boat and kept us replenished with food and drink. The experience is amazing and besides the tasty wines you will see some of the most beautiful places and landscapes in California.
