What travellers are saying
- Culture717503Yuba City, CA8 contributionsActually the most beautiful and all-around most enjoyable beach in San Francisco proper! If you, you and your friends, you and your family want a fun day at the beach that is generally never as windy and brisk as Ocean Beach, this is your beach.
Yes there is a nude area. If that’s not your style, don’t wander toward the bridge. You’ll love it here.Written November 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Today is such a day and therefore it was a pleasure to go to this beach. Do not expect facilities… there are none. Just a basic beach.Written October 23, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is neither the only overlook viewpoint nor the best one. A resident person or a repeater visitor would have a better recommendation for an overlook viewpoint.Written June 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MyBucketListTrips409 contributionsGorgeous views of the ocean and the city. Paved trails. Ample, free parking. VERY dog friendly. The hike down to and back from the sand is strenuous, even for those in the best physical condition. My family wore hiking shoes and was glad we did. Worth the hike and a great family outing with our pooch!Written June 20, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ajia CLoveland, CO123 contributionsIt was pretty quiet, and so beautiful. A tad chilly but it's October. It was a little bit of a hike but worth it. We did see some skinny dippers which was interesting and fun to see their giddiness about it.Written November 1, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mark HSonoma, CA2,585 contributionsExploring Lands End Costal Trail, we can across a stairway plunging down toward the water that transported us to a beautiful and isolated beach replete with stacked rock art. From the beach, you feel like you are in a remote area blanketed by the sound of breaking surf, the only civilization in view is across the Golden Gate. On a clear day, you can see all the way to Point Reyes. From some points, you can glimpse the GG Bridge. It feels magical to find this natural solitude in San Francisco. A very special place. Recommended you go on sunny clear days to get the full majesty of the panorama.
There are about 260 stairs, but they are well maintained and if you are in moderate shape, should be east to navigate. There are 3 locations where stairs have failed and you need to take a double step, but overall I would rate the path as doable for most adults and older children.Written February 8, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
