We went to Cafe Wha on Funk Night. The band was brilliant. Guests also performed a version of "open mike" but they all definitely knew what they were doing. The rapper from Bed-Stuy was awesome. The vocalists had the stylings of Donny Hathaway, Roberta Flack & Lauren Hill.

Music charge is a very sensible $15 person. And drink prices are very reasonable. Shout out to our awesome server Lizandra. This place offered a solid two hours of entertainment: it was fun.

The whole experience is incredible! You have to see a show here. It is a unique theatrical experience from the moment you check-in for the night. The food was delish, the service was great and the show was incredible! There are sooooooo many talent people in that show! I felt like I was in a super exclusive club and got a real 70's disco vibe, but way cooler. If you don't experience this you will regret it.

I liked the venue, typical SRO kind of place. We were on balcony, sound was very good, with plenty of places to get a cocktail. It’s what it is, you’ll like it if you’re there to see something you like enough .

Decent venue! In terms of decor it's really beautiful and nicely laid out. Ornamentation is cool, nice big venue with an upper gallery, bar upstairs and downstairs.

Down side: coat check at 5$ per coat, that's a little expensive. Beer at 15$, that's a lot expensive. Getting into the venue went relatively smoothly, but security guards were intense and a bit rude.

Grace Jones was amazing, the theater was okay and the sound system that night was really really bad. We could hear the singing, but not when she spoke. They make you wait in line and it literally, ya'll, wraps around 3 blocks. Bouncers can be rude. We knew would couldn't stand the entire time so we got reserved general admission seating, Yeah, I hadn't heard of that either, but you get seating, but it's not assigned, first come first serve. The folks on the floor were loving it.

Wasn’t happy hour when we arrived so got two bottles of Stella, staff seemed chatty when we arrived. We came for the rooftop bar but as was raining it was closed which is fair enough, except it was empty and the lighting was all red which felt seedy and there were fake palm trees everywhere which was odd. Also we weren’t allowed to access WiFi, even when we asked staff which seemed odd nowadays. Overall nice enough and music was great!

I was looking for a place to dance bachata and salsa and so happy I've found this place. There were many really good salsa dancers, totally enjoyed that night.

Absolutely loved this place. Visiting from the UK. The staff are really friendly and the drinks are the cheapest we have found. $8 for two vodkas and mixers. The music is good and the atmosphere is really good. Thank you.

Always a good time! Drinks were decent & the very young 20-30-ish crowd increased to a manageable size after 10. The sound system, however, was problematic at first, but the DJ eventually worked it out. As for the pool table, it would help if it was properly balanced so it didn't have to be tipped to retrieve balls & moved all the way to the back so that we could shoot pool all night.

Off the beaten path, big rooms, BYOB (but there's a service charge). The system is easy to use which isn't true of every spot in the city. And they let you order outside food. Also have a happy hour special during week where karaoke is half price.

Having been in party scene in NYC for last few years, I have been to Cielo many times. The dance floor is on the smaller side and on most days their DJ lineup is decent and nothing very special. Tables could range from 350 to 500 that are away from the dance floors and 1000+ that are right on the dance floor. Usually they have a 30 dollar entry fee as a general entry. Drinks are good and reasonably priced. Crowd is mostly young including students, young professionals and tourists who like to party. Overall, it is a mid-range club and provides a good value for the price point.

I visited here with some friends when holidaying in NYC. Back home we have so many laws and regulations that it takes the fun out of partying, so to see naked guys walking around was kinda cool and liberating from our perspective. The guys here are looking for a hookup but you can easily lead the way to what you want out of your night.
The upstairs is like a normal bar but the down stairs has a dark section where sex on premise is permitted with lots of guys simply watching while copping a groap or feel of each other they are standing near.
Drinks are reasonably priced. 2x vodka soda and a carona coming to $20. There are go go boys dancing for tips with hands on permitted for extra dollars which some guys were quite happy to keep topping the money belt up.
Was an ok experience to say we've been here and it makes us realise how much of a nanny state we live in back home in Australia. It was a good night out.

There are hundreds of great chance clubs in NYC so it's hard to talk about just one, but if you find yourself near Chinatown, NYC after 2am, head over to Le Baron to dance. My nephew took my sister and me a few weeks ago and at first I thought is was small, but once we were past the friendly doorman and through the narrow hall to the main floor, I could feel the thumping expansiveness. A quick trip to the lower level was another vibe-smaller and less crowded, but friendly dancers were there. On the upper mezzanine level was the best spot to see the crowds of dancers, feel the beats, witness the table service-it was soooo much fun! NO cover the night we went-visit their website to see who is DJing.
There was a line to get in at 4:30am and there were plenty of taxi available when we left. Try it!
You cannot get near the place, though during fashion week-like so many other clubs, so keep that in mind.

Large place. The performance I went for (Kokoroko) was a disappointment. $25 must buy to sit on tables.
