    Macy's Now
    Macy's Herald Square in Manhattan NYC is one of the largest -- and one of the oldest -- department stores in the US. It was built and opened as a department store in this location in 1902. By now, the building was renovated multiple times.

    But it still looks very dated: very low ceilings, poor ventilation and lighting, overall subdued colors of the interior. Even the old wooden escalator (sic!) is still in operation! After a few years, I again visited Macy's last month -- and found pretty much the same as I saw before, as far as its interior design and decor, and general ambiance in it. The store wasn't busy.

    But Macy's getting ready for spring, regardless -- and in the ladies apparel departments, I could see some new fashion ideas -- spring styles and brighter colors. Famous brands, too -- DKNY, RL, CK, and many others. The staff I talked to were polite and helpful with directions to several departments. The store is huge -- its retail space is 1.25 million square feet (116,000 sq m)!

    Hopefully, Macy's will look more cheerful -- and busier! -- with a lighter, sunnier, and warmer season coming up, and with more customers shopping in this flagship department store.

    The Flagship Store
    Saks Fifth Avenue is the flagship store for the Saks group. Located opposite the Rockefeller Centre and Saint Patricks it truly is a great location.

    Very impressive store
    Bloomingdale’s is a sprawling and well fitted out store.

    There are a huge number of top fashion, make up, perfume and home ware brands.

    There are also multiple restaurants, including Magnolia Bakery, Flip burger, 40 Carrots and more.

    A New York icon and well worth a visit.

    Nice pillared shop
    Located just off union Square this is an interesting and sizeable shop. The name doesn’t really do it justice as I was expecting something more of lower end.

    Old Fashioned Service
    Modell's does not have the selection in sporting goods that Dick's. They are a local chain that provides old fashioned service. I got a fantastic price on a new pair of sneakers. Always a pleasure shopping here.

    The store is huge. There are very few places to sit to wait for the rest of your group. Very few sizes available and few sales people working.

    The New Barney's Downtown Is Cool & Chill
    I've been to Barney's uptown many times, and I always find it a little uppity. I finally got to explore the one downtown this weekend. It was not only really cool, but I found the service chill and relaxed. I didn't feel uncomfortable while browsing. People were really nice. The clothes are really cutting-edge with lots of up and coming designers. It's more downtown and less suits. Pretty cool here. Love the accessories departments.They have a cool basement cosmetics department too. Check it out if you're in Chelsea or the Village

    Good fashion shopping
    Excellent store with some bargains though the exchange rate with euro is not favourable at present. Plenty to see and choose from.

    We stocked up on decorations, authentic silk attire and a dragon head for our Chinese New Year party. The store is filled with beautiful items.

    That’s cool
    I like this salon! I came to the store after finding the salon on Instagram. I recommend it! Girls awesome and quality of hair really cool. I spend good time and have volume extensions, like my nature hair🥳

    Must Do Holiday Shopping Experience
    Breathtaking store! Very oppulent and luxurious! Stunning glass facade, wonderful holiday and christmas theming throughout, with fun holiday actors and a DJ! Loved the shoe bar and all the cocktails, and my girlfriends loved the Sleigh Bell Lounge, so festive and posh!

    Fun spot to shop, take pics and check out art
    Awesome art gallery to explore different exhibits featuring artists specializing in clothing, accessories, skin products and other start ups. They feature a slide, coffee bar and they have interactive exhibits when you wave your want at particular stations. Highly recommend this gallery if you want to do some shopping, check out pop up shops and fill your IG feed with art. The pop ups and exhibit change so I'll definitely be back. Fun place to check out with some friends and no reservations required at this time

    Bergdorf is all a good store should be.
    BG is always fun to visit. Start at the top if you have never been there. You will be astounded by the home decor and accessories department. Look for the bunny plates and napkins and china. Fun! The staff in all departments is first rate and never stuffy. Just helpful and they love to chat when not too busy.

    Hidden gems in the store
    Everything is under $5 dollars which is a great deal but surprisingly organized compared to other dollar stores.

    There are lots of hidden gems in the store for example we found a cushion bench today, of course $5 each, which might be sold for more than $10 on Amazon.
