I would have enjoyed the experience more if it hadn't been so packed w/ people, but that's what I get for going at lunch time on a holiday week-end! We had Taiwanese Beef Noodles at a Noodle Place and they were reasonably priced, and the serving was too generous to finish. My daughter and I could have split it.
So many markets from pastries to desserts, plus gift shops. I'm glad we went!

  • The Grand Central Market is a foodie's dream come true! They truly carry everything that Whole Foods would sell and then some. The prices are not cheap but you get what you pay for. My favorite spots were the butcher and the baked goods. Unfortunately, we were on our way to a steak dinner and could not try anything.

LOVE this place! I take the train from Connecticut specifically to go to this market! The selection of fruits and vegetables is vast and the freshness incomparable. The baked goods are equally as impressive! It is such a fun place to wander and purchase delicious, fresh and healthy products in a fun location!

An easy no-brainer, especially for a group of hungry and differently-minded people, something for everyone

For West Coast people, this is a similar concept to Oxbow Market in Napa, or like an indoor "Streat Food" in San Francisco. Essentially, it's a brick and mortar with endless food and shop vendors, endless options for grab and go, fast casual, and sit down, and some of the tastiest options in lower Manhattan, and a perfect meetup spot for friends, family, etc. It's a wonderful use of space, and you could spend all day exploring, discovering, and meeting the nicest shop owners and cooks. Quite tasty and lots of smiles, all around.

The Fulton Street fish market has been around for decades and has been featured in many movies over the years. Interesting to visit.

As Australians we really enjoyed this little market. A variety of countries represented and little treasures to be found amongst the tat. Mostly older items as a market should be. I found a treasure.

A choice of restaurants serving steaks, pizzas, shakes, rolls, and international food. You choose as per your taste to order, self serve yourself, and hang around the greenery and sit on park seats to enjoy your food. It is a collection of Quick Service restaurants for awesome street food.

This is a small outdoor market (it might take you ten minutes to walk through it) full of African clothes, jewelry and other items. A very interesting place and not too expensive.

Maybe due to the closing of the Hell's Kitchen Flea and the Garage Flea, this 26th Street Flea has attracted higher quality vendors. More old jewelry (both flea and precious) offered. Generally friendly vendors who will negotiate a little on price. This is in a mid-block parking lot with no food or comfort facilities. Worth a visit and conveniently located. With a little luck, there will not be too much traffic in the area.

As a was walking down Canal Street observing how big Chinatown has gotten and how tiny little Italy still stands I saw this Marketplace with a great environment. We are talking of a indoor walk around marketplace with different selections of foods and treats.

There are lots of vendors selling yummy food. We had a strawberry galette with chocolate drizzle from Pie Corps. It was fantastic to enjoy a treat while enjoying beautiful views of the Brooklyn Bridge.

First, the weather is super, second, the location! Right by East River, Third, nice neighborhood in Brooklyn ( East River Park). All that added up to be a great day for us. We tried quite few good, overall pretty good! It was a fun day with kids. One suggestion, better go with 4 or more people so that you can share food. Otherwise, one order from a vendor will fill u up already, lol.
