Embarked on a delightful day out with friends to the iconic Brooklyn Bridge, it was an absolute blast! We lucked out with fantastic weather, which set the perfect backdrop for some pictures.

The highlight? Long strolls along the majestic Brooklyn Bridge, taking in breathtaking views of the cityscape and the East River. The atmosphere, coupled with the rhythmic pulse of the city, created a memorable experience.

We had a wander down the river in the dark and sat on the swings on Pier 35 which give great views of the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges. There was a lot of building work going on by the river but you could still access some of the river path. Lovely all lit up at night and always busy with traffic!

If you are interested in the history of New York or are a fire fighting buff this museum is a must see. With two stories full of memorabilia, artifacts, vintage equipment and information this museum takes the visitor through centuries of firefighting history and tradition. Most exhibits are self-explanatory but an audio tour is available. On-site staff were helpful, knowledgeable and eager to answer questions. A gift shop is available with books, souvenirs and items suitable for kids. Located in a great neighborhood and only a block and a half away from a Subway station the museum is also just two stops away from the 9/11 memorial at the World Trade Center. Check their website for a schedule of special events and temporary exhibits.

We crossed the bridge on a Sunday afternoon. There was a small amount of traffic but nothing crazy. Going home in the opposite direction, it took about twenty minutes to cross. Nothing out of the ordinary.

As well as the wonderful different green spaces there are within Central Park there are some beautiful pieces of architecture to admire as well.

The Bow Bridge is a perfect example of this. I first knew it from Home Alone 2 and I also saw it in an episode of Broad City too.

It is quite close to the Bethesda Fountain and is a way to get across the lake within the park.

You can get lots of shots of it from the surrounding area and it is also a perfect place for selfies and to get more pictures.

We crossed the GW to get to MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. This was my kids first time riding over the bridge. We always take the Verrazano to the Outerbridge Crossing to Central Jersey.

I think they were more fascinated with the city views and rock walls approaching the bridge. Never a dull moment on the GW. Always traffic!

One of the big bridges to Brooklyn from Manhattan, this one taking you the heart of the hipster paradise of Williamsburg. An important way to move people and traffic and the bridge has its own charm.

I went here with a friend and we walked half-way across the bridge. There are good views of the Harlem River but it is difficult to take pictures due to the tall chain-link fencing on each side. The pavement design changes mid-way across indicating the division like between Manhattan and The Bronx. It's a good place for a walk on a nice day.

A beautiful stone bridge, Gapstow Bridge is a lovely feature in New York's Central Park. It was built in 1896! It's also a spot where many movies have used the bridge as a film set. It is a great location for some wonderful photo opportunities.

We got lucky on a Friday at 1:30pm with only a slight delay at the entrance driving thru to mid-town NYC. The Lincoln Tunnel was proposed as early as 1923, but was built in 3 stages with the 1st tube taking 4 years to complete opening in 1937. The 2nd/North tube opened in 1945 and the 3rd/South tube opened in 1957. Currently $17 with reduced EZ pass rates. Actually, a fun ride thru this old tunnel.

The Wards Island Pedestrian Bridge can be seen from the F.D.R. Drive, going in both directions. It occasionally raises to let a ship pass under.

I’ve loved this bridge ever since I first entered NYC. Maybe it’s because I also love Sydney, Australia, and I didn’t realize until recently that the Sydney Harbor Bridge is based on this bridge.

Not only does this bridge have interesting history, but it’s rumored that after man kind collapses, this bridge will still be standing. It’s an architectural marvel. It still services Amtrak trains.

This bridge can be accessed by two primary ways—from Astoria Park and Randall’s Island park. Randall’s island offers better photo ops and a new and beautiful walking path, but the Astoria side is pretty as well, and has easy access to the tasty ethnic eateries of Astoria. Both spots have good parking, but Randall’s Island probably offers more.

Look this bridge up, learn about it, and go see it. It’ll be a nice day out for a walk, people watching, photo snapping.

I was working in Westchester County and wanted to bypass the traffic on the Cross Bronx Expressway. Not the most scenic of the crossings. Crossing was much faster than the other two Bronx bound bridges.

It was one of those days, I had to work in Westchester. Crossing the bridge late morning, there was still traffic - crazy. Construction is still going on.

Our GPS rerouted us down the Merritt Parkway to the Sawmill Parkway. Crossing over the bridge was easy during midday on Wednesday. Traffic was light and moved well towards the George Washington bridge. Great ride!!
