The Hudson River flows from upstate New York down to the Atlantic Ocean meeting the sea at Manhattan. Like many rivers around the world there is a trail you can follow along side the riverbank. You can walk, cycle or run along the route and where I walked was well maintained.
I used to think the NY taxi’s were the most dangerous - now it’s the cyclists who see to think the Greenway is a race track. Aside from that it’s a great stretch and lots to do and see.
Excellent service, cheap prices ($8/hr) and staff very friendly. We rented a tandem and an adult bike which were in good condition and we borrowed a lock for free.
