Very cool. Best enjoyed in good weather; the small trails around are very nice. The walk to the Tavern is not strenuous at all; the trail is actually paved. Have been a couple times; very interesting.

This is NOT Disneyland; might not be great for children.

Experiencing that I was underground at least 17 stories, the guide told us. Also the caverns have been around long, long time. We did the self-guided tour but joined a guided tour. Which you are allowed to do that. I would definitely recommend the Laurel Caverns.

We stopped here after visiting the battlefield and fort. The tavern is in really good shape for how old it is. Quite a lot of it is still authentic too.
This is a really quick stop. You can walk to it from the visitor center or drive to it. Either way, be sure to check out this historical tavern.

It doesn't take long to visit Braddock's grave site and to learn he originally was buried in the middle of the road in 1755 to prevent is body from being found by French troops and their Indian allies. There are two trails to the grave, one with steps and another around the trace of the original road if you cannot use the steps, but it is longer. Along that original road you will reach a sign after a few minutes stating you are at the location of Braddock's original, hidden grave.

When we were there, they were building a new walk around the grave, so it was difficult to get around all four sides to read the different inscriptions. I expect it will be reopened soon, however.

Stopping at the Fort Necessity National Battlefield not too far away will provide a great deal more information on Braddock and his relationship to George Washington.

We went to this place while we were visiting in the area. It was slow for a Thursday night. The restaurant was closed due to COVID, even though their website said they were open. We had to eat dinner at the bar inside the casino. The $5 Craps table was a pleasant surprise! It is a nice little casino, but not much food options.

I desperately needed a "spa day" and this is what I got! What a BEAUTIFUL resort... again, world class-- with SO MUCH TO DO! I had the full spa day, which was absoutely amazing- the setting of the 5 elements with so many options. Staff was very professional and curteous. Had dinner at Aqueous- everything was amazing! Can't wait to come back. The grounds were perfectly manicured nestled in the mountains with incredible views... I did some exploring before I left to see that there REALLY is something for everybody! From ziplining/ rock climbing/ heated (year round) pools, skiing, jeep tours, clay shooting, a zoo! art classes- a whole building dedicated to children- the spa, golf... you name it, its there! Can't wait to go back!

Beautiful course. Immaculate and every part of the course was in perfect condition. Seems a bit pricey but it was definitely as high end as you can get. Fairways were like carpet. Greens were perfect. Can’t say enough about the condition of the course, the service at the pro shop and the friendliness of the staff.

I enjoyed a short infrared sauna treatment at the Holistic Healing Center. I was the only one in the center when I visited so I had the front desk staff’s full attention. I had a lovely treatment room to change in and then was ushered to the sauna. While I didn’t experience immediate pain relief, I found the experience be relaxing.

this was neat to drive through as it was once the National Road westward and as a history teacher I love experiencing drives like this. Just interesting.

Great experience. Mason was a great instructor, very patient and great instructions. The training course was an experience in and of itself. This is a must do activity…..if you ever wanted to learn about why a Jeep is such a great off road vehicle, you will see and experience it on this trip. It was a good off road trail, mud…rocks….hills..water. We experienced it all.
