We stopped here enroute to Tulamben Resort hotel. Our driver knew area well. Right off main highway..

This was an amazing place, 70000 entry fee, beautiful setting!

We bought some fish food and strolled the temple grounds. Lots of fish to feed and gorgeous pools, fountains, structures..

We spent about 45 minutes here, really enjoyed the stop. Well worth the time and cheap entry for what’s available here. Our five year old grand daughter loved the place and seeing such beautiful sites!

Prior to visiting Bali, I never heard of Ujung Water Palace. It was included as a stop on an East Bali tour and was one of the highlights. I loved the surrounding environment and beautiful gardens. The palace itself was just alright, but everything surrounding the palace was just beautiful. Ujung Water Palace is worth a stop.

New improved road to the beach makes access much easier.
Spend a relaxing day on a sunbed with a cool drink and offers of massages, snorkel on the small reef, lunch at one of the warungs.
    A beautiful spot

Very nice beach and it was not too crowded, but the waves could be strong at times. The high tide comes in without warning and washes stuff (e.g. slippers) away, so beware of that. Offers for massage should be avoided, as none of them are professional masseurs/masseuses. On the way in to the beach, the road climbs over a cliff where there are good views of the beach from above, which makes a nice photo spot.

The place is nice and beautiful but I don't like that the guide asks you for money at the end of the tour. The guide is included in the ticket

Really beautiful black-sand beach! The water is super clear and a great place for snorkeling - also suitable to children and/all weaker swimmers. There are so many fish and interesting coral!

There are a lot of businesses on the edge for hiring equipment and chairs, but you can simply ignore them if you're not interested. You shouldn't have to pay any fee for being on the beach.

Everyone has seen the pictures from Lempuyang on instagram. It’s worth a visit just to experience the production line of tourists waiting in line for that spot. We got to the temple at 6am and were still 84th in line to get our photo!! So we entertained ourselves for 2.5 hours whilst we waited for our photo moment.

Whilst you wait, you can see everyone else practicing their poses and no doubt you will join in! As I said, its a production line but does provide an iconic viewpoint. The temple itself is high up on the hillside and you do wonder how on earth people built this in the first place.

Ultimately, if you want that iconic picture, you should get in queue pre 6am and come with things to keep you entertained :)

I stayed across the street from Amed Beach and spent everyday here snorkeling. I found the black sand to be unique. The snorkeling here is one of my favorites. I saw so many fish species, garden eels, a hawksbill sea turtle, and so much more. The coral in spots was stunning, I couldn't get enough of it. That being said, I saw so much plastic floating in the water, I've never see it like this anywhere else and yes it washes up on the beach. I went diving and the dive master told me that many tourists help clean up the beaches. I think everyone needs to be involved with keeping the beaches of Bali clean.

Really nice place for some snorkeling! The water is super clear and not too deep. We went via the restaurant so that we had somewhere to leave our things and a place to hire equipment. If you're coming from the water, it would be even better!

Ketut, in the centre, is my kind of guy.

He runs Side By Side Organic Farm (his brother owns the land across the the footpath). Before C19 he used to invite people from all over the world to his eco-stay and restaurant using the profits to educate local farmers against pesticides and intensive farming practices. He talks about how the oil from the tractors pollutes the land, how electric fishing kills the baby fish unnecessarily, how the chemicals destroy the soil nutrients. He’s out to demonstrate to others by hands on learning that you can live sustainably and successfully.

He grows pretty much everything he can and is experimenting with fresh water fish aquaculture.

He also makes a mean pineapple juice.

I’m on Bali looking at exporting organic wine from Australia to Indonesia so great to meet a fellow organic advocate on the weekend 💚

Ketut is trying to get his operation back on its feet after volcano eruptions in 2017 and 2019, covid-19 and more recently the worst flood damage in 50 years.

Well worth a visit. There are no signs when you get there but follow the Google.

Breath taking views of Mt Agung. Instragramers paradise with a number of themed photo vantage points. Alternatively, there are plenty of spots for you to simply sit, chill, and take in the pure natural beauty of raw jungle and a massive volcano. Take the Jeep up for the final leg (IDR50 per person). Entrance fee IDR 50 pp. We went there on a weekday in off season so had the entire spot to ourselves.
