Dropped by for a visit and did not expect the hikes to take at least an hour each. Ended up walking around taking pictures before heading back to the entrance.

Even through the short walk, we found it to be very enjoyable with manageable crowds for good photos and there were also refreshments available long the trail.

We would definitely come back in the future if we return to Bali.

We recently visited the Ulun Dana Bratan Temple as part of a day trip from Ubud booked through a travel company called Ubud Area Tours. The temple is located on the shore of Lake Beratan and are open from around 7am to 7pm daily. There is a fairly large parking lot, public toilets and even a few cafes at the temple. Entry fee is IDR75K per adult, no sarong required in general temple grounds area.

You'll find fairly large and open grounds along the lake. Some tall trees in area to create shade, nice landscaping and overall attractive setting around temple structures, typical of Balinese Hindu architecture you may have seen at other temples around the island. The main temple seems to date back to 1633. There are two structures situated in the lake just off the shore, these make for great photographs.

Within the temple grounds, there are a couple locations where you can have interactions with rescued wildlife animals which can include having pictures taken and feeding for small fees. We enjoyed seeing the fruit bats, civets (think Luwak coffee) and owls. Very helpful if your driver/guide knows the history of the temple and can share a bit with you as you explore the grounds. We spent around 45 minutes at Pura Ulun Danu Bratan before moving on to the next destination on the day.

The Bali Butterfly Park is a nice park for viewing various species of butterflies and to see the surrounding gardens area. There are various pathways in the Park gardens that provides ample opportunities to see the butterflies. The Park is lush with foliage and plants which provides a nice habitat. The visit to the Bali Butterfly Park was a nice experience, but I felt that the facility could have been better maintained.
