We had done a day time snorkel with Hang Loose a few days prior and didn’t think it could get any better, but it did!

The crew was amazing!!! The captain was informative and FUNNY!

The boat ride to the bay was 25 minutes long and a fairly smooth ride. We even had a whale pop up right beside the boat.

The crew was efficient and organized when setting up. The captain was encouraging to those getting in the water, ensuring they felt safe and comfortable. He also communicated well with the crew in the water to get people in and out. I was a ride along and was directed to a great spot to see the manta rays. My youngest daughter got scared and the captain was so encouraging, while also respecting her decision.

They had snacks, drinks and great tunes on the boat.

We rented a go pro camera from some guys in the parking lot. $40 and we got to keep the SD card. Great footage!

Loved this island! We stayed at the Westin Hapuna Bay and it’s one of my favorite hotels and beaches. There’s so many different things to see. It’s dry, then super green, it’s gorgeous. I’ve been here twice and I’d def go back.

Staff was amazing! We had 7 large Manta Rays swimming with us. Nice short boat ride. The team explained directions to us and had great equipment to use. I highly recommend going on a tour with this group.

Captain Jacob and the boat crew made sure that every guest had a great experience. They are all very respectful of the guests and the welfare of the whales.

I lost count of how many whales we saw on this 2.5 hour tour. The whales came very close to the boat.

I have been on around 20 whale watch trips. This trip today was the best for many reasons:

    1) The boat is well designed for viewing.
    2) the narration and education provided by the staff was valuable.
    3) the boat was always the correct distance from the whales to comply with regulations and concern for the whales.
    4) the boat staff took us to just the right spots to encounter many whales!
    5) the boat has a microphone they lower into the water so we could listen to the whale sounds

Sign up for this trip immediately! It is well worth the money

The show was great. We loved learning about the culture and influences of Hawaii. The food was good but it could be warmer.

Perfect adventure for the day, I would go again! Saw more whales than on a whale trip! Smelling was fabulous. Perfect time of day and length of swim time.

Nice crew! didnt see any whales breach which was what we were really excited about. Didnt really get close to the whales due to legal restrictions. They came up one time close to the boat but thats it. We just followed the same 2 whales around for majority of the trip but other than that the drinks were good! Got some good video footage and photos! Nice boat with 3 bathrooms! The snacks were pretty good too! Hummus, veggies, pastries, chips, cookies.

We did this activity with our 3 teenagers so if was us and just one other person so it felt like a custom excursion. The crew were great, Cory and Eli. The water time was 30 minutes and we saw a few mantas. We did the sunset tour. They pointed out some whales on the way out and at the dock we saw a shark and a turtle, so it was a pretty good trip 😊

Boat ride out to kealakekua bay, about 40min there and back. Snorkeling at the bay was decent. Ample time to snorkel, abt >1hr. Lunch on the board was crossiant sandwiches and pineapples, simple but sufficient and tasty! Had lots of snacks too. Our guides were Ayden and Kiwami, great! Also got a great tip from Kiwami to visit a nearby park (Kaloko-Honokohau) that was abt 7min away from the hang loose harbour - amazing tip because we saw so many green sea turtles just lounging in this relatively quiet National park. Will recommend!

Great trip! We saw dolphins, sperm and humpback whales and had a fantastic time. The biologist on board was knowledgeable and the boat was comfortable and well equipped.

We did the Captain Cook/City of Refuge snorkel trip. We had a wonderful time. We were on the water a total of 4 hours, snorkeled at 2 different locations, stopped several times to watch whales and to visit some geologic structures. There was plenty of time in the water and time spent in the boat. The crew was friendly, laid back, knowledgeable and took great care of us. It’s small group on a small boat, we were the first group to the Captain Cook Monument and in the water right away. Go! Have fun.
