What travellers are saying
- Delores TCorinth, MS1 contributionA friend and I returned and the garden was again wonderfully refreshing R and R as she supports her husband in a very difficult hospice situation. In every season, the garden and its staff never disappoint.Written March 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Vacation063690211415 contributionsLoved this...exhibits for young and old. cyclorama and artifacts--including a train that kids can climb on...toddler storytimes, folk art, a golf exhibit (!), a history of the Civil War, a movie explaining the history of Stone Mountain, a section on the Atlanta Olympics, commentary on women and marginalized populations in Atlanta's past and present, the Swan House for architecture and interior design, a play area for kids, chickens and sheep, and Jenny's for fantastic soup and sandwiches. Spent 5 hours and could have spent more.Written December 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Rebecca G2 contributionsMy mother and I went to the swan house on Saturday and had a great time. We had been before, but had never received a tour with a docent. Our guide was Jack his expertise was astonishing. It was so impressive. He knew so many facts not only pertaining to the house, but also the people that lived and worked there and the objects that were in it. He mastered any question that was thrown at him. His enthusiasm for the subject matter shown through and really brightened our experience. If you’re in the area, I highly suggest coming here and having a tour with Jack.Written November 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tanekia L1 contributionI had a horrible experience at Cator Woolford Gardens. The actual grounds is beautiful, but the customer service and lack of security is absolutely awful. I reserved an hour for my birthday photo shoot. During my reserved appointment, there was another photographer and her clients there. At first I thought they were finishing their session a little late, but it became apparent that they were just trespassing and knew that there were no cameras to catch them. I was hindered from taken the pictures I wanted due to this photographer and the family because they were hogging the prime spaces and there were children running through the back of my pictures. My shoot was ruined! When I notified Madison about the situation, she was very flippant and basically stated that due to there being no cameras, they can't supervise someone taking my slot even though they didn't pay. I asked for a refund and she offered another scheduled shoot. She did not take into account that my birthday had passed, the cost of a new photographer, and that the same thing could happen since they didn't have any kind of protocols for unpaid photographers. I had no problem with the gardens not being private...I saw a few people walking their dogs or taking a stroll. The issue was me having to pay for a session when I could have just trespassed for free like the other group. There is also a history of car break-ins because the premises is not secure. I am very disappointed in their lack of concern and rude responses. If you are considering paying to use the facilities and it is not an event like a wedding, there is no need to pay. They don't know or care who is there.Written July 31, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Geoff HSissinghurst, UK12,682 contributionsWith over 150 rose bushes in a variety of colours, this garden outside the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park Visitor Centre is a quiet place to stand and reflect on the life and works of Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. To make it even more contemplative, the garden is bordered by "Messages of Peace" written by young adults from America and the rest of the world. It is worth taking some time to stand, read and consider these "Messages of Peace".Written December 7, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
