What a fun and unique tour! They opened it up special for us because we came on a cruise ship excursion on a Sunday in early April. The experience going inside the mines was fantastic! It was thrilling going in with a real retired miner (we had Rich) and being able to ask questions, and see the actual coal face of the mine. The two films they showed us (one of a miner talking about his experiences with his wife; the other a 'virtual mine' tour which was awesome) were also really well done and interesting - great job!

Beautiful sand packed beach with many varieties of birds. Many years ago spotted a strange looking one, about 15 years past, so took a photo sent to government of NS and since Piping Plovers protected. You can often spot along the shore. Careful driving in! You can park along the road side. There is a turning point but beyond soft sand! No 4x4 stop and park. You can still turn. Please read the signs since it is a protected beach. A little piece of heaven on earth. A must walk! Believe me a lifetime memory.

This drive is about 1 hour from Glace bay to Mira Gut. There are many places to stop and enjoy the view, stop for a bite to eat, or stop and walk around. One of the bridges is so narrow only one car is allowed on at once. There are some pleasant streams and scenic areas to enjoy.

They opened just for us because we came on a cruise excursion on a Sunday in winter (early April). It was interesting to go through the rooms and see all the thousands of displayed objects, and hear about how life was for the miners so many years ago. We could ask questions of the local guides in the room too. Very well done!

When we were there mid October, the small building was closed, but we did see the historic plaque and got information nonetheless. The site is a typical seaside area with nice cliffs and open space, so you can't go wrong if you're looking for a nice picnic spot weather permitting. It looked like there was a bit of foundation of something on the grounds, but we wish there had been something of substance outside, like a radio mast or something, just animate the outdoors a bit. Glace Bay and the area around it is scenic enough, so if you are around for some reason, or are a telecommunications history buff, might be worth a stop in season. We took the opportunity to see this after our visit to Louisbourg, via the marked "Marconi Trail." Not the best highway in the world, but we arrived in one piece...

What a beautiful theatre hidden up in Glace Bay! I had the pleasure of doing a wee bit of email exchange with Carol Anne and what a lovely and pleasant way she had of doing business. The service was exceptional, the building was wonderful and it is a perfect setting for so many arts based events. The acoustics were great and I believe there may not be a bad seat in the house.

I enjoyed visiting this church immensely. The door was open and I headed immediately to the worship center. This church was quite modern and attractive as well. The stained-glass windows were modern. The organ was splendid. I wished I could hear it.

While I was admiring this chapel, the priest came to me and we had a great time talking to one another.

He encouraged me to go the to the side chapel. There too it was quite beautiful. A stained-glass window stood out. Wow!

I told the priest that he had a gorgeous church here. He agreed.

I left with a new friend.

It's worthwhile to visit this church. It is beautiful!

I ate there often from 2020 till 24 and everything I had was good and I am picky.
Their cheeseburgers, wraps , pizza and clubhouse is all I've had ( multiples of each) you get a good serving at a fair price
And most important I never got sick feeling in any way after eating there.

Barbara was great giving us a customized tour after our cruise ship docked in Sydney. I was having difficulty in finding a tour guide and another company recommended her to me and I’m so glad he did. She gave us a customized tour traveling around the town of Sydney, to Bras d’Or Lake, Baddeck, stopping along the way to see some truly beautiful scenery. The only disappointment, and not a fault of hers, was the ferry to take us across the lake wasn’t working so we had to go back the way we came. Her knowledge and enthusiasm of the area added to the fun day.
