- BudmanriLincoln, RI1,059 contributionsvery nice facility. Water does have seaweed & not crystal clear water but was fine . There is a lunch buffet $20 . Beach access is $10 includes a chair but no umbrella ($20) . Free wi fi , outdoor showers & plenty of vehicles to transport back to cruise ships . Also a menu for burgers, drinks etc . Reasonable priced for a 3-4. hour dayWritten April 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- yorksboyYorkshireSpain13 contributionsCruise stop was moved from Ocho Rios to Falmouth so wasn’t sure what to do. Saw red stripe beach and 867 beach club so I contacted Everton Rodney os RasStar tours and he was great. Picked up at cruise terminal on time and we were first on the beach. Everton was also on time picking us up, I would highly recommend him and the beach club, best day of the cruise so farWritten February 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jennifer CPleasant Hill, MO13 contributionsWe thoroughly enjoyed our tour at Hamden Estates. Shelley Anne, our tour guide was fantastic. She’s very knowledgeable about the history of the estate and the rum distillation process. Steve and Susan were also fun to talk to. The factory is amazing given the history behind it. We ate lunch there, and the chef did a great job with the jerk chicken and pork. The dumplings were the best we’ve had in Jamaica. This is a true working factory, so be prepared for all of your senses to be engaged. We left with much more knowledge and a love for Jamaican rum. I have a new appreciation for the esters!Written January 21, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- collhugh72 contributionsThe best part of this port was our pedicab guide Eggroll. It's about 45min, $25USD + tip, and i was impressed how knowledgeable this young man was. There's so much more to this country than the pretty package you're fed within the port gates (where you can get any and every souvenir). I wouldn't want to explore outside the gates on my own. Maybe in a large group it would be ok. Eggroll will take good care of you, make sure you find the best food, and learn some history too. - StephenCharlotte, NC98 contributionsThis was the last stop of our customized itinerary with Chester’s Tours, and it was definitely a unique experience as we got the opportunity to handle both a snake and a baby crocodile, which made for some cool photo opps. Lots of interesting animals to see, and you will have the opportunity to take plenty of pictures.
Our guide was laid back and informative and I would recommend you check it out even if you don’t know anything about the Bond stuff, as we aren’t fans but still had an enjoyable time.Written December 26, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There was lots of seaweed on d shore but I am used to public beaches in Jamaica. There are usually just A BEACH -nothing else.
Burwood beach now has clean:
changing rooms ,showers, toilets (hope it's maintained) for a super reasonable fee.
Even a lifeguard

Leroy's beach bar is here, and you can always get a cold Red Stripe and a delicious, inexpensive meal. The locals are welcoming and friendly. There are lots of stray dogs around and this can be depressing for some to see, but they are friendly dogs. The beach isn't perfect but it is nice and you can swim here.Written September 4, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jay COntario, Canada189 contributionsIf you want to stay within close quarters of the cruise ship, here offers enough to do without heading out too far. With the Margaritaville within walking distance from the pier, you can easily make a day activity out of it. We personally enjoyed checking out the local wood work and crafts. We also really liked Patty Port’s Jamaican patties! Definitely a place to go to!

- Grover RPensacola, FL22,545 contributionsWe recently went to Falmouth on an NCL cruise and I fell in love with Jamaica here. Where some see unfamiliar and potential hazard, I see a quaint, historical English colonial grid Caribbean community. You don't travel to a different region to see another USA; you go to see something different. If you are in port, take time to walk beyond the sanitized, Disneyfied port and get into the real Falmouth.
Yes you will have to walk one block from the port terminal to the block with the market and square where you will be aggressively approached by many people wanting to guide you or sell you marijuana. However, after politely declining and walking that block, the town opens to a great Caribbean colonial community and one of the first things you see is a palm lined pedestrian street with this market.
I visited once by myself and once with my wife. As the earlier, reviewer says this is really a market place for locals. I simply breezed through. However, I did stop to take some pictures because the architectural prominence is significant and the commercial center on the square. There is no doubt the recent, enclosed and reproduction market has taken some of the commercial luster from this site. Still it has both the geographic and design of the town and it is great for pictures. Like so many Caribbean ports, it is that open air market that once defined these colonial communities and it is great to see Falmouth has not destroyed the history that made it great. Take the time to visit.Written April 1, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. When a cruise ship is in port, you can find the courthouse open and available to take a peek inside. The building is in great considering the elements it has withstood over the years.Written September 4, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
