Visited this quiet, quaint seaside town whilst travelling between Beverley and Scarborough.

We stayed for about an hour and walked along the seafront. Not a great deal going on but pleasant nonetheless.

Recommended for a short stop or maybe a day on the beach.

We walked here on a lovely sunny day so we could sit outside and enjoy the scenery. Nice staff in the cafe, they sell beer and wine as well as coffee and tea. There are rowing boats to take out and z putting green.

We have been before, this time the walled garden looked stunning, and so well looked after. Not a massive garden but all credit to the gardeners. All the flowers were at their best. There are some lovely walks and the people we met were pleasant. There are open days, when the hall is open and garden days. The café in the walled garden is self service on garden days, just situated in a peaceful spot, tea and coffee available and selection of cakes, payment via honesty box. Will definitely be visiting again.

Many of the shops are now closed and moved out. Roman, Klass and Poundland still there with regatta and mountain warehouse. We visited the potteries cafe and did some painting. The beach cove is a very good play gym and bugtopia is a nice way to kill an hour. But the place a a shadow of what it used to be which is a real shame.

Nice little place to sit for a quiet sit down. Worth having a walk through whilst visiting Hornsea and we appreciated the rest after looking round the village.

A traffic free route from Hull to Hornsea. Good for walking or cycling. Most of the path is tarmac so it’s not very muddy even in Winter. The route goes pretty straight and hardly passes through anywhere built up which means some lovely countryside but also few places to stop off. There’s one pub called the Railway Inn around half way and that’s it. Took me about 4 hours to do Hull to Hornsea, and there is a bus service back, but I’m quite a fast walker. The first 20-30 minutes from Hull City Centre is through the streets before the trail starts.

We only found this while doing a treasure trail. Tucked away behind the main street on a little patch of grass. It has an information board, which was interesting. The structure is faced in treacle-fired bricks which were unusual. Apart from that, not much to see. Shame more hasn't been made of it
