- Barbs GStockport, UK234 contributionsIf like my husband you struggle on hills then this place is ideal, a beautiful clean long promonade. Not all built up like some of the Costa de Sol, restaurants dotted here and there and some shope, even an open air church It is very clean and the beach is kept immaculate. Visited mainly by the Spanish, it is rrally a good location for a break.Written June 6, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MarcusHurleyCalne, UK10,842 contributionsThe Castle was a small artillery fort with a round tower on each corner, heavily restored after a lightning strike ignited the gunpowder store which destroyed one tower and then a few years later an earthquake badly damaged what was left.
It is now used as an arts and exhibition centre. Inside was a model boat exhibition, ranging from 15th century galleys, HMS Victory, Colombus' 3 ships, a Viking longship and then more modern fishing vessels and steamers.
There was a photography exhibition and also a large display of Goya's prints of French war crimes in the Peninsula War. Free to enter and a nice way to spend an hour.Written May 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Things tend to run down at the end of September/October.Written October 23, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Fiona MToronto, Canada7 contributionsI had a self catering apartment so appreciated the fresh fruits, veggies, bread and dried goods! Quite crowded so go early. Nice to stop and have a coffee with churros.Written October 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- NurseMelHarrogate, UK794 contributionsVisited the aquarium during our week in roquetas de mar .
Got bus from hotel which took about 20
Mins and cost €4.05 for all 3 of us one way.
It cost us €56 to get into the aquarium .
Looked fab on entering .
Was quite small and didn’t take long to go around . You are allowed to touch the fish in the pools and the stingrays too. Which we enjoyed doing .
The main tank with the bull shark was brilliant and we saw them feeding the fish.
Loved the octopus and turtle juan who lost his fin through fishing nets.
Was a lovely aquarium but thought it would have been bigger and was quite expensive .Written October 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was bullfighting season, and although we didn’t actually see a real live fight, the place was awesome, with a small museum too showing all the Matadors fantastic outfits.
Worth a visit.
Later the same week we stumbled across live tv coverage of same bullring with bullfighting going on (only watched one as quite bloody, but heho, its Spanish tradition)Written June 24, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This port is very nicely done, you can get free parking for 30 minutes before you have to pay.
There are plenty of bars and restaurants within the port and a small night market.
We went on a boat trip which leaves from inside the port and also there are many more activities available if you wish, scuba diving, jet skiing etc.Written August 16, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's has lovely tracks to run or walk around and some attractions to have a stop and look at in the middle. If you like to walk or run, is a nice alternative to the road/promenade.Written July 20, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dnowland_12Leeds, UK4,466 contributionsThis beach or playa here in Roquetas de Mar is situated just after the small puerto and runs for quite a long way towards Aguadulce. There are several tapas bars and restaurants behind the beach on a promenade that is nice to walk along.
The beach is clean with nice sand, ideal for families with children.Written May 8, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The bars in the place also serve fresh fishes in tapas and have a great choice available.Written August 2, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Simple enough… purchase a card and top up the card to use on the rides/attractions. We went with our two children who chose the inflatable course and the bouncy/jumping trampolines. Staff were attentive and polite. Good experience for us.Written August 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
