We started this hike off the Moore Rd parking lot at around 10am - plenty of parking available. Parking lot has clean porta potties. The hike up to Lion’s Head is reasonable but good shoes highly recommended for the rocky path for most of the way. It took about 1.5 hrs to get to Lion’s Head including some time spent at earlier lookouts. The main trail is very well marked. Make sure to go all the way to Lion’s Head - it’s well worth it.

    This is the Bayside Astronomy.

We can only do this in the night.

There are many people coming here to enjoy!

The Bruce Peninsula has some of the darkest skies in southern Ontario.

This is a place where Milky Way blankets the sky from horizon and where the natural rhythm of darkness and light is preserved, creating healthy habitats for for wildlife and people alike.

The Northern Bruce Peninsula is a refuge for fark shies and a place,

Light pollution is the easiest pollution to fix, become a dark sky steward in your own neighborhood and help bring back the night.

The clear turquoise waterwas beautiful as we kayaked Lionshead. Water was a little rough but we really enjoyed the kayak. Yes hiked Devils monument trail too, has really good lookout points into Dyers Bay.

Pretty solid lighthouse. There is a fee for parking so prepare to pay but plenty to do in that area so I would go there and then the beach

This local beach and park has a lot going for it. There's plenty of picnic tables, restrooms, large grassy areas, large shade trees, cold/clean water to play in. Lacking is good quality sand. Very pebbly/rocky sand, though people had their blankets set up on it. Parking is very tight and not much of it during busy times of the day.

Very nice views. Nice trails leading off from the beach. Water fountains, pavilions and some benches. Free entry. Historic signage.

Did about a 6km hike here yesterday and had a picnic lunch @ the ruins. It was pretty nice. We went the long way -- down the spiral staircase, down the steep stairs to the beach, then past the Wiarton marina and then looped back around up the hill to reconnect with the park. The ruins were great, there were small patches of water access along the white trail, and a nice lookout at the top of the cliffs on the blue trail.

This is a beautiful church. It's name: Christ Church Anglican Parish of the Bruce Peninsula

    The church is beige.

    They have a tower.

I like the door, it is grey!

    A must see!

Off the beaten track and just down Main Street, still local to downtown is the Dandy Lion. Packed with unique items from the Brue or Lion's Head as souvenirs and things to remember your holiday break.
They also have other items that would make quaint additions to your home or office space. All of the times look to be made from high quality materials an workmanship offering good value for your money unlike some tourist stops.

Cute little gift store with surprisingly lots of clothing to choose from. I saw kids' clothes and toys.
    There were even essentials there.

We spent a week hiking the Bruce Peninsula with Zain and Muffy from Explorer’s Tread. It was a self-guided hike with drop-off and pick-up most days and a few days where we were able to walk directly to our accommodations. What a wonderful experience. The hike was well planned, well mapped and every effort was taken for safety. We had a GPS device that we could use for emergencies and so the good folks at Explorer’s Tread knew where we were—just in case. The best thing was that Zain and Muffy lived in the area and were probably the most infectiously enthusiastic representatives for this beautiful region of Canada. They knew every aspect of the trails we took and gave great advice about places to stop for lunch, places to explore for dinner and “special spots” along the trails that we absolutely should not miss. Both Zain and Muffy are first-responders and are incredibly safety-oriented. I had a miserable blister on the bottom of my foot on the last day and Muffy fixed up my foot well enough so I could do the 20km hike with no difficulty (she was my hero after that!). My husband, daughter and I had an absolutely wonderful time on this hike and STRONGLY recommend you consider going with this great team. They will take very good care of you and allow you to enjoy the best of what the Bruce Peninsula has to offer. (Just watch out for the poison ivy!)
