What travellers are saying
- Robby G CToronto, Canada78,235 contributionsWe had to walk on a path with forests. That was cool!
When we arrived at the Anse Canot
, there were still trees and one was really old.
The beach was light brown and the ocean was peaceful.
There were alot of boats on the ocean
This is a great place for swimming and enjoying the beach.Written August 28, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This distillery, unlike Bellevue, has free tastings, and of course you’re able to buy some rum. The distillery was not offering tours and there are no signs with explanation, but it’s a small place and open, so you can see many of the goings on.Written February 23, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Hel DLaPeche125 contributionsYou will learn everything there is to learn about rum at this distillery! And the view is quite nice too! They have 14 different rums to taste and one of their best is 59 degrees!
And of course, they have a small shop were you can buy these rums and other "souvenirs". Worth the visit, definitevely.Written February 24, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - skyisbluMontreal, Canada2,538 contributionsBeautiful, with tall palm trees, silky white sand, and sheltered tables great for picnicking. The edge of the beach descends steeply into the water, due to the roughness of the waves, which makes walking along the water tough on the ankles. The violent waves are also not inviting for casual swimming, but are excellent for kite surfing, which can be enjoyed near the point, where a company offers equipment rentals. There is a park for children near the parking lot, as well as washrooms, and there always seems to be place to lay your towel, as the area is generally quiet. A nice place to lounge in the sun and read a book, but not for swimming - I suggest you head to the beaches on the western side of the island for calmer waters.Written August 12, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Robby G CToronto, Canada78,235 contributionsThis is a great beach. The sand is light brown.

- StephenCopenhagenCopenhagen, Denmark231 contributionsVisitors to Marie-Galante can't help being impressed by the fields of sugar cane which cover the island and are the main agricultural product. The harvested sugar cane can be turned in to three main commercial products: rum, sugar and syrup used as a sweetener or topping. The syrup produced by Les Délices de Siblet is unique and said to be the very best produced on the island.
While the "official" address of the factory is in Grand Bourg it is actually only about five kilometers south of the town of St Louis on the right hand side of highway N9 as you are driving towards Grand Bourg, immediately after the sign marked "Section Siblet."
The low ranch house in front of the factory serves as the home of the family of Patrick Maurin. Pull in to the parking lot and walk over to the factory where, providing there are not too many other visitors, one of the members of the family will explain to you in French how the cane is harvested from the fields in back, processed and bottled to become the "Sirop de Batterie." The finished product is available for purchase in either a one liter (€7) or half liter (€4) bottle which they will package for you. I have used it to sweeten my yogurt, on top of ice cream and to make tropical drinks.
When you're finished here drive another five kilometers south and follow the signs to the Distillerie Poisson and see how sugar cane is turned in to rumWritten April 1, 2010This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We could see an island as well.
The beach was light brown and the ocean was light blue.
Behind the beach were trees.
I even saw a beautiful flower.
By the way, I have not seen any mosquitoes!
Worthwhile to enjoy!

We learned a lot from him.
However, I don't drink.
Still I enjoyed what I learned.
