- dan gCourtenay, Canada108 contributionsA very very good and a very very nice and a very very scenic park to walk or ride your bike around or just relax at and watch the birds but I recommend staying out of that park after dark.Written February 22, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Isaac F8 contributionsMount Washington Alpine Resort offers a wide variety of attractions an if your looking for a great place to do some of these things, this is the place.
For experienced skiers/snowboarders, this mountain offers five different chair lifts all with different skill levels of runs.
For more inexperienced users, this resort offers lessons and lots of smaller runs with "magic carpets" which are the easier and less dangerous version of chair lifts.
If you feel you need to little break then the lodge offers a restaurant often with live music and a café/grill.
If you are not into the attractions mentioned so far, then you can also go tubing which is great for all ages and very fun.
In the summer, you can also try their ziplining course, mountain biking and walk paradise meadows.
I would suggest to go when there is fresh snow because if this is not the case, the mountain can get very icy. I would also suggest not to get a full day pass especially when it is cold up there because it is easy to become freezing. Another suggestion is to arrive there at least 45 minutes early because it can get very busy which gives you less time for having fun.
Overall, I think that this is a solid place to go if you are interested in these activities.Written January 1, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Critical GuyComox, Canada29 contributionsThank God the military now owns this place- an unspoiled, perfect sandy beach that makes your jaw drop, nothing compares. The amount of sand here is amazing! Hawaii needed to acquire more sand to make its beaches, this place is just naturally spectacular. This is a gem, for sure.Written June 8, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Alister LEdmonton, Canada19 contributionsDon't bother trying to decipher the barely legible sun-bleached info-map! The 6km 20 minutes is for the entire loop, but the falls are a nearly flat 100m away.Written July 26, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. So glad we decided to finally go. There was lots of wildlife sightings, including Orca’s. The last day was truly magical. Beautiful weather, calm water, and just as we launched our kayaks a large group of Orca’s swam by. We watched them from our kayaks, for almost ½ hour. Then we saw seals, and a humpback whale diving. On our way back to camp, there was a 3 legged bear on the shore. On other days bald eagles were seen.
Tents are spacious for 2 people and the cots have thick sleeping pads. I am over 6 feet tall and could stand upright in the tent. Nice! A lantern, clothes pole and tote box for clothes were provided. Most tents were steps from the rocky beach. The views of the water and surrounding mountains were spectacular. I enjoyed watching the many large cruise ships that sailed by.
Meals, cooked by guides Jesse and Dan, were fresh and delicious, and served buffet style. There was always something on the menu for everyone, including the vegetarian in our group. Jesse cleaned and cooked the few fish we managed to catch from shore. Eating area was rustic but was well sheltered and the propane heater took the chill off.
As inexperienced kayakers, we were a bit nervous about being out on the “ocean”. There were double kayaks available, and after the training provided by the guides, we never felt unsafe out on the water.
The only drawback, if you’re not used to camping, is the toilet facilities. But, the composting toilet along with the camp’s goal to leave the land as the found it, were worth an inconvenience.
Water was pumped to two sinks, one for cooking and one beside the toilet facilities. There was even a rustic shower with hot water from a propane tank.
Overall, our group had a truly amazing time. It’s such a beautiful and unique part of Canada. The ocean views, the mountains, the wildlife, and of course the Orca’s made for an unforgettable adventure.
Sandra, Jesse and Dan are informative, calm, knowledgeable, safety first, and great ambassadors for BC.Written September 19, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
