- msafirimbiliNairobi, Kenya66 contributionsWe did the full day Mida Creek adventure. The snorkeling and seeing the dolphins was great, the boatmen were great and friendly. Take a towel to sit on, as the hard wooden seats are uncomfortable after a while. Also not happy about using the common snorkel, that are washed in the sea water.
I was not impressed with the seafood lunch. I think there are different tours, so I can't say that applies to ALL the tours. If you don't eat seafood, don't do the lunch. Also there wasn't really enough food, it was adequate, but certainly not overly satisfying. Tiny little prawns, and small, small lobsters, the squid was not nice, hard and rubbery, and there were no accompaniments whatsoever. No salad, just a lump of what they called coconut rice and a veg sauce. And warm drinks.
Did not enjoy the village dancing after the lunch, it's ok for tourists, I suppose, but then comes the "magic box" which is for tips. Its awkward, and then the coffee guy offers you freshly ground coffee, and once you say yes, he charges you a 100/= for a teeny weeny plastic cup. RIP off!!
Next time I will do the half day trip and skip the lousy lunch.Written January 29, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The place is just unbelievably amazing!! The only thing we missed were dolphins as we went at a time when they're harder to spot apparently.Written December 16, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kate F9 contributionsGreat guide. We saw the venom milking which was fascinating. Our guide knew loads about all the animals there (snakes, terrapins, tortoises, cross, monitors....etc). Learnt loads about anti-venom process and different types of snakes and breeding. Highly recommend.Written December 16, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- woody44Bolton, UK252 contributionsWe were a family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers both aged 13.
We visited whilst we were on holiday in Watamu and really enjoyed our visit.
We had a full guided tour of the facility and the member of staff was very polite and extremely knowledgeable.
We all found this tour to be very interesting, thought provoking and engaging. The information on display was very imaginative and it does hit home the message about not only protecting turtles but also the whole oceans, seas and environment.
Our tour lasted about an hour and we got to get up close to one of the injured turtles. The conservation centre also does a wonderful job with the local fishing community.
They will also take your details, just in case they are ready to release any turtles back to the sea, this means you can take place.
I would certainly recommend a visit if you are in Watamu, you can also book a visit on line.Written September 25, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Michele B5 contributionsIf you need a safari look no further! Garibaldi is super professional and organised an amazing trip. You don’t have to worry about anything. We did a VIP tour to stavo easy and it was excellent. The driver had been doing that job for over 20 years and you could tell he knew where to go! Highly recommended.Written January 14, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Francesca LBrighton, UK8 contributionsWe spent two weeks in Watamu and relied on Thomas to arrange everything - he gave fair prices, much cheaper than what our hotel was offering. Tours of nearby Malindi, restaurant choices, where to go for the best mango juice in Watamu, blue safari and an INCREDIBLE two day safari in Tsavo East staying in a tented camp, no fences - turned out to be the best way to get up close to the animals, truly incredible experience. Thomas was an expert guide throughout (in both English and Italian) and looked after us with true Kenyan hospitality. The only thing you must know in advance is the distance between Nairobi and Masai Mara is quite long and very bad road. There is also a flight service between the two, which we didn't know about.Written September 14, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
