If you have the time to wander, you should just get lost on the narrow winding streets. Lots of atmosphere of a Greek town with.a Venetian flavor. Lots of souvenir stands that get a little tiresome, but you will find some quiet spots that are not crowded. You will probably climb a hill. And you will find a lot of food and coffee.

So pleased we visited this little hidden gem with friends in the heart of Corfu Town. It's not very big and the guided tour only takes about half an hour, but so worth it.

The family apartment is all on first floor level and we had the most lovely young lady showing us around. She was very knowledgeable, able to answer any questions, and gave us plenty of time to take photos. The rooms are full of history and character.

    Highly recommend a visit.

The big castle next to the old town. At one time it protected the old city from attacks. Now it is available for your tour. Very medieval with a prominent position and great views of the harbor.

The church is dedicated to one of the most popular in orthodox church saints - to the Saint Spyridon. His saint relics were delivered from Turkey. he is the patron of Corfu island. The Church of saint Spiridon was built in 15th century. Many people are coming to this church from many countries. They believe that the Saint Spiridon can help all people in their trouble situations and to heal from desiases. He is helpful to all people not only to christians.

it might be a bit strange to visit a museum of asian art when you're in greece - but this one is definitely worth it. i took advantage of the national holiday on oct. 28th - the entrance was free for most places in the city and this was one of them. it took me about an hour to go through the museum, i really liked it, there was a lot to see. if you arrive on a cruise, it's very close to the shuttle bus stop by the old fortress.

The buildings with the columns, set along a park area. Most notable architecture in town. Underneath the columns are a series of restaurants catering to the tourists, like us. They bring out your food and beverages to a lovely dining area under the trees and umbrellas. Great for people watching, since everyone walks past here.

A very picturesque part of town with a fountain and some old buildings, including a good museum. We wandered a bit and then went to a cafe close by for some cold drinks and to get out of the sun.

Mansion south of Corfu along the coast. Easily accessible via the blue line or hop on hop off bus. Lovely grounds with archeological finding in several locations. Apparently the British aristocrats weren’t the first people to find their hill top location with a great view of Corfu town attractive foe settlement. Entry to grounds was free. 5 euros to go into Mon Repo mansion museum. Interesting assortment of antiquities old and newer spread around the house. Most interesting is the room with photographs of the town and country side taken by a British officer. At the very beginnings of photography. Be careful walking the grounds as it is easy to get lost.

We went here on Tuesday and sadly it was closed.

However the view from the outside are amazing. This is such a huge castle that you can imagine just how many people and how long it took to build.

I am a British Corfiot with my parents buried there. Until 2024 this cemetery was used for burials. The pain and offence those of you treating it as a tourist attraction or “quaint” Victorian graveyard are causing is significant. There are people recently buried there whose families want to come and grieve, not see your photos and comments about mosquitos like it’s just another theme park. If you want to tip your hat to servicemen you’re exempt from this comment , you understand respect. The rest of the tourists treating this like their back yard, will you get it through your head that real people live, die, and oh yes, mourn here.

In the old town area, this touching memorial caught our attention. Very moving subject and sculpture. And yes, there were people deported from this island, part of the general round up in Greece. Touching.
