Coming out of Kos on the bus was hectic. You can get a taxi for about 8 euros.
Kos is very busy. Lots of restaurants and bars. Many boat trips.Written September 19, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The officer at the museum was very polite and helpful, and as a tour guide I was both surprised and delighted by how knowledgeable he was. This is the best museum in town, you must see⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Written January 9, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mo LEssex, UK93 contributionslots of shops and restaurants and not too pricy.
loads of boats for trips.
you can see lots of ruins for free but to be honest they should charge a bit so someone could just go around emptying bins and having a clean up.
so much rubbish around which is very sad, and everything is left to overgrow.Written September 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Apparently it’s quite famous - It’s a tree (fenced off) Nothing spectacular, but if you like a not particularly impressive fenced off tree, then this is the attraction for you. There were loads of people taking photos of it. But, at the end of the day….. it’s a tree!Written October 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JRFlorence49 contributionsAbsolutely beautiful. Breakfast with a view of boats and islands and stunning crystal blue waters. There was four of us and for 4 breakfasts, orange juices and a coffee and a water each it was so reasonable and affordable. Fab treat to ourselves at the end of our holiday. Peaceful place to relax and dine or go for a stroll either at the evening or during the day.Written October 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DeeSquared79Skipton, UK65 contributionsInteresting collections amd some beautiful examples of sculpture, pottery, gold work and jewellery. Enjoyed the afterlife gallery most of all - lots to learn about there.
Overall the interpretation is a bit text-heavy and even as someone who works in Museums I was flagging a bit by the end.
As per previous review about the Casa Romana, it would have been nice if the statues discovered there could have stayed at that site.
Other reviews have complained about the entry fee, but knowing how much museums cost to run and how much conservation management costs, I didn't find the fee excessive.Written November 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - DeeSquared79Skipton, UK65 contributionsThis is a fascinating site with so much to see and explore; from the incredibly well preserved remains of mosaic floors, to the carved compass points we discovered around the site, the marble steps, and excellent architectural features - this place is vast and we really enjoyed exploring.
The only downside is the amount of litter - it is such a huge shame that so many people don't respect historical sites like this.
Don't let that put you off though - getting up close to this Roman heritage is a must.Written November 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
