Although I had friends who lived in Tobermory area for decades, I had never visited The Grotto at Bruce Peninsula National Park. I was determined I was going to see it this time, even though my knees and joints give me a little more trouble in my older age. It is a busy site, especially in the summer, so be sure and prebook your visit online and assure a parking spot and entry. Everything is very well organized from parking, to entry, to a comfortable easy walking trail with plenty of benches to rest along the way. Once there, I was able to view the cove from above and climb a little higher to The Arch, but to actually access The Grotto cave, I left to more nimble tourists. It was beautiful and I'm so glad I have finally seen this natural wonder.

This was a great trip. The "Flowerpots" are a treasure to behold and the hiking trails are incredible! I am a seasoned hiker and I must say the inland trail portion was probably the most challenging I have ever done, but the trail along the island's edge is extremely well-maintained and easy for even those who are not "hikers". It is a beautiful walk. The "beaches" are all rock and can be tricky but are definitely walkable. Visitors can opt to either disembark for a few hours or stay aboard to return to Tobermory when they purchase their tickets. Highly recommended.

Hiked the easiest trail to the water's edge - beautiful blue water. Nice easy well-groomed trail. Lots of people on the trail.

It was so much fun and such a unique experience to take the MS Ch-Cheemaun Ferry from Tobermory to South Baymouth, Manitoulin Island. Our tickets had been pre-booked and we had no problems at all. Communication was clear, access was easy, and the trip on the water was enjoyable. The boat is spacious, with big viewing windows and the cafeteria was well-supplied with a variety of delicious food served by friendly, accommodating staff.

Beautiful spot to take a dip! You need to hike about 1.2 km from boat dock to get here. It’s well worth the hike. There is a museum and a small shop to get some pop or chips. Take the early boat ride if you want to hike up beyond the lighthouse.

My hike from the parking lot at Cypress Lake campground was beautiful and challenging. The landscape varies from flat and easy to rocky and more difficult, but the trails are well-marked and the scenery stunning.

Very nice beach but the water is extremely shallow. I walked about 500 meters and it was up to my knees. "Swam" by walking with my hands on the bottom. You need to pay a parking fee of CAD 12.25 before entering. There is also a very interesting board-walk with orchids growing along it. You can also see birds and other animals. The board continues with a trail but most of it is closed for restoration.

A great spot to tool around with a mask or try a deep dive off the shelf. NOBODY in Tobermory, tourists especially, seem to realize we are in the middle of a pandemic so be prepared to be in tight quarters here with people not wearing masks etc.

Lot of people, but roomy enough for everyone. We were there between 12:30 and 2:30 and there was lots of sunshine for my spouse and lots of shade for me - perfect. water is cool in August, but easy to get used to. I would suggest water shoes/socks. Some spots are very slippery. Watch for the drop - haha.

This is a perfect beach all though super small as most is private (I don’t get this).

Anyway it’s super shallow for 100 metres but sadly cold!!

    Worth a visit
