- VoyageurAnglaisNE England123 contributionsThe chateau has an interesting earlier history and then has the more recent connection with the fascinating Josephine Baker. The current owners have amassed a great deal of material and information about her - the collection of her clothes is especially impressive. There was also a display of falconry which was very enjoyable to watch. We’ll worth a visit, and very good value for money.Written October 9, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MelroseMunchkinMelrose, UK414 contributionsThoroughly enjoyed our informative visit to this walnut farm. When we were there the harvest was in full swing so the restaurant was closed as the staff were being fed instead of the visitors! Interesting film explained the story of processing the harvest and as the owners of a young walnut tree ourselves we were excited to see how it was done! The products are understandably very expensive as much of the process is done by hand. We loved the walnut ‘art’ dotted about and especially the giant concrete walnuts in the car park.Written October 13, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jo V1 contributionSpent a super afternoon cycling from Castelnaud to Daglan along the Voie Verte. Bikes were in great condition and Joel was extremely friendly, well-organised and encouraging to our family group. The ride is easy, mostly flat, on a tarmac track with attractive countryside all the way. It's quite exposed in places, so take sun protection and water if a warm day and look out for the refreshing swimming spots in the Ceou - wonderful! We took it steady and our round trip was about 4 hours (inc. time to rest, eat and swim). Highly recommended!Written August 23, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- kenl63London, UK22 contributionsAbsolutely stunning! Highly recommended. Our evening flight was cancelled due to a heat wave but we had the option of an early morning flight and it was fantastic. We changed our dates and numbers of people a couple of times but great communication meant that this was no problem.Written July 14, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dom WinterStratford-upon-Avon, UK64 contributionsBest thing about this set up is you park up they take you up the river and then you canoe down at your leisure, almost all the others are based up river and they take you back afterwards so you are on a time limit.
Some tips - if you are older and not as athletic as you used to be (like me) a kayak can be murder on your back - nothing like it was last time I paddled when I was 15 !!! next time Id get a canoe (Canadian style) which looks much more comfortable. You get a large waterproof tub to put all your stuff in and there are 3 trips tio choose from - we did the middle length one. Scenery is stunning and there are places to stop on the way down for a beer etc.
Staff are lovely and friendly and communication was great .... very good company to go with and canoeing down the Dordogne is something you have to so when you come to this area.Written August 7, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Bussed to Carsac then spent a lazy day meandering along La Dordogne back down to Castelnaud in our own time. Brilliant service and very safe.Written August 4, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
