A brilliant day out! Great for all the family Including dogs! The views are breathtaking from the top. The cable car journey up is great as well. The Bob sleigh was a huge hit with our family.
Restaurant at the top is great but expensive. Lots to do - highly recommend

Nice is quite long T2 ridge hike in either direction, although public transport is not so frequent at the Monte Lema end. Lots to see & do on the way...

A singularly beautiful panorama of the pre-Alpine landscape, the lakes and the in winter snow-capped Alps. The Santa Maria degli Angeli chapel, designed by world-famous architect Mario Botta, is a marvel of contemporary architecture and features paintings by Enzo Cucchi.
Made of porphyria this impressive edifice built on a spur of the mountain has an amazing panorama and is meditative as well as a new perspective for reading the landscape. The chapel, built between 1992 and 1996, is dedicated to Saint Mary of the Angels, and its innovative design represents a new take on religious architecture.
It presents an innovative character in the context of the design of a devotional building in terms of religious architecture.
The artistic intervention entrusted to Enzo Cucchi, occupies the two main spaces: the vaulting above the stairway leading into the chapel, where he has drawn two huge cypress trees, and the heart of the Church. In the apse itself, two monumental offering hands are stretched towards the visitors. It opens out against a blue ground under the perpendicular shaft of light which streams into the building. The hands are integrated in the Marian iconography, distributed in twenty-two panels placed above the windows. Father Giovanni Pozzi, a Capuchin, distinguished scholar of forms of prayer and spirituality, composed the twenty-two litanies that Enzo Cucchi translated in suggestive and evocative signs.
He uses geometric shapes to juxtapose lightness and weight
It is an evocative masterpiece in his simplicity as it makes us reflect on what spirituality really is

After that you can go up for a bite or a good cup of coffee. Ended it with the cart or coaster ride...
