- caroler54Sedro Woolley, WA200 contributionsThis was such a beautiful setting. Bitter sweet as it did get over run with tour buses and people. Glad we arrived early. We had purchased 4 live lobsters en route and cooked them in the Peggy's cove parking lot where we set up a table and feasted on fresh lobster! Wow and Wow! So delicious. Beats the price of restaurant lobster! We traveled from WA in our small RV so had all we needed to make the feast.Written December 19, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BudmanriLincoln, RI944 contributionsWe were not aware of this monument. We walked right by it.When our driver picked us up, he asked if we saw it. Quite remarkable and I do not know any of the history, but well worth visiting if you are at Peggy’s Cove .Written October 24, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DeanMurphy2020Orlando, FL7,527 contributionsFamed for his “lasting monument to Nova Scotian fishermen” on a 100-foot-long granite outcropping situated behind his house in Peggy’s Cove, deGarthe also has his studio here. William deGarthe was born in Finland and immigrated to Canada in 1926, and for many years he spent each spring and summer at Peggy’s Cove. Since deGarthe is an artist, items featured in the gallery are a bit pricey but unique and enticing. Unfortunately, the prices were out of line with my travel budget. When part of a group tour at mid-day, the gallery was open, a definite hit☺Written September 9, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - worktotravel14Trenton, NJ2,045 contributionsIf you want to bring something back from Nova Scotia for you or others, this is one of my recommended stops. They have a range of jewelry, trinket dishes, ornaments, among other designs -- and all of it is beautifully made. We walked away with several ornaments including that of dear Rudolph. We also purchased a piece of jewelry. If you catch it at the right moment, you may be able to view the jewelry making process. Sales clerks are nice and will walk through the inspiration of designs or explanations of their collections.Written August 31, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MichaelCarreiroMontreal, Canada457 contributionsA store selling work from local artisans. A little more upscale than some of the other places. Some unique gifts not found elsewhere. Some of the stuff however is overprice for what it is. A small painted rock had a price tag of $125. While nice, similar stuff can be found elsewhere around the province for a fraction of that price.
There is an outdoor terrace to drink coffee and have some snacks, but being late September it was too cold.Written November 23, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Apparently it’s near the end of the season for puffins on Pearl island, they’re starting to migrate out, but we did get to see a puffin(s) circling the boat and catching fish, not sure if it was one or 2 birds. We got to see some seals and other seabirds we had never seen before either. Only downsides were the fog was thick as soup and the boat was a little late coming in for our 10am tour.Written August 8, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
