- Theo VAmsterdam, The Netherlands1,557 contributionsWe went on a day early December. We choose the route of 1.5 hours one way to the lake. Having walked about 75 minutes, we turned around. The road in the shadow of the trees was totally iced and we didn’t have our heavy walking boots on. Nevertheless, it was a great experience. The nature is beautiful. The mountains and brook spectacular. We loved every minute of it. On our way back we took the short tour of about an hour to the parking place through the woods. Really nice. - RDS17 contributionsWe arrived after an overnight flight, and a 3 hour drive, and we’re warmly welcomed, and given a wonderful room with a balcony. The staff is very helpful, even with repairing a suitcase United Airlines had wrecked (though it had a PRIORITY tag). Breakfast was delicious and filling. The restaurant was just what we needed. Park your car near a small Ski station named "Peulla Gerber". There is a map there with the different trails there. We took a hike to the Estany Gerber lake.
