What travellers are saying
- Jelynne S1 contributionNature’s Bounty is an amazing place to take a school class field trip. It’s a beautiful location out in the country. Our students & families loved the educational opportunities to see & learn about pumpkins, apple picking, sunflowers, sheep, corn, bees & apple cider. Students enjoyed the obstacle course, picking apples, navigating the corn maze, churning apple cider, going down the slide & feeding the sheep. The staff & tour guides are patient, friendly & knowledgeable. Our classes had the best day!Written October 15, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- WCasey2 contributionsWe had a complimentary rm which was appreciated.
The gentleman who gave us early check in wasn't sure if the rm was pet free as I was allergic. He offered to change it if we observed pet odor.
We had a King rm, but don't expect to get the one on "You Tube" review which he had upgraded to a suite. We were on first floor so it was noisy as the access to Casino was down the hall. People were walking by rm outside. We faced a building so no view.
Unfortunately, we found the following.
Very uncomfortable bed that squeaked when u moved.
Very poor lighting in rm at night. Window screen in need of repair, the tub was extremely high so if u r a senior with limitations, u definitely need to mention same.
No tea or coffee in rm. No dresser, just cube style cabinet. Access to Casino was outside. Poor lighting at access to Casino at night.
Restaurant a bit pricey. Staff were very accommodating and pleasant.
Overall we appreciated the complimentary rm and slots weren't busy with a fair variety of games.

They preserve, research, interpret and exhibit artifacts related to the cultural and natural history of the Township of Scugog area.
The Village includes:
12 restored buildings
Heritage flower, herb and vegetable gardens
Ojibway Heritage Interpretive Lands
The village comes alive during special event days, when costumed artisans, craftspeople and interpreters entertain and educate the whole family. Enjoy a Victorian tea in our restored church tea-room, watch a blacksmith hammer out a hand-crafted work of art on an antique iron forge, or take a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the museum grounds. They're all occasions you'll love to discover in Scugog.
They also offer special events, birthday parties and school programs throughout the year. Guided tours are provided daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m seasonally. The grounds and buildings are also available for private and commercial rental.

On Saturdays through the summer there is also a farmers and crafters market to troll through.
Enjoy because I get some really great gifts for showers here.Written July 22, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It doesn't look much from the outside but on the inside it goes on and on and on - chock full of bric-a-brac from the past century or more - they probably have anything you might need here of the vintage variety - glassware and mugs and records and DVDs and old phones and cabinets and an old typewriter and a school bell and old toys and games and driftwood and flotsam and jetsam and it it really all is very tempting. It is worth an hour just to gawk at the sheer multitude of it all.Written June 19, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 599AngelaToronto, Canada528 contributionsI was last at Ocala Winery in 2003. Nearly twenty years ago. I had heard rumours of their demise but no, they are thriving! And they still make excellent apple wine, of the table and dessert variety. They also seem to have extended their fare to grape wines - they were not as prominent way back when in this area. They make two excellent reds. But the prize is still the McIntosh Apple wine.
I don't remember their inside, but it seemed to me that they had extended their tasting areas, they have at least two separate places to sit and sip indoors and nice patio as well. And they provided table service for the tastings - which is unusual these days and very welcome to my friend who just can't stand for very long at a tasting bar these days.
For $10 they give you generous tastes of their wines. The only downside is that they don't refund the tasting fee if you buy. Between my friend and me we spent about $100 on bottles, and we felt this justified a waiving of the fee.
But that's business these days.Written June 19, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kdoering14Toronto, Canada2 contributionsHave played at Oakridge many times this year and it was in very good condition. The greens in particular are better than in past years. Bunkers have been receiving much-needed attention and are a lot better. I believe a new superintendent came in at the beginning of 2023 and has done a nice job.
The course is a hidden gem. Most of the holes are isolated from one another (as opposed to running up and down alongside each other) and the terrain is quite undulating. Its a shot maker's course.Written December 13, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TheCanuck85London, Ontario, Canada105 contributionsWe stopped in since we were in the area although it was a bit of a waste of time.
Most of the store was filled with items that you would find in a Marshall's or Home Sense Store with a few vintage or antique pieces here or there.
I dislike when a store advertises as an antique market but then has mostly new or reproduction pieces.
Prices were decent though and the place was well lit and clean.Written August 6, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. When COVID hit they even had beautiful well fitting masks you couldn't get anywhere else and I'm still wearing mine. I've even bought some wooden toys for my new grandson here for a great price. Like I said a bit of everything and fresh. I've also enjoyed their strawberries and peaches.Written July 22, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JenniferRoseAjax, Canada78 contributionsWe visited the Durham Forest Conservation Area last week to walk our husky - as we love to visit different parks in Ontario once a week for some fresh air. It's a very large conservation. We walked aimlessly for two hours.
There is lots of change in terrain which was nice. Lots of hills, rocky paths, and grass patches. We went on a very warm day and didn't encounter any bugs, gnats, or flies.
We did, however, encounter some wildlife - a bunch of chipmunks throughout the trail.
It's a beautiful forest area, but there isn't anything super special from what we experienced on our walk. We didn't encounter any water sources (pond/lake/creek) and didn't see any online on their map, so make sure you bring water for yourself and your dog.If you're just looking for a nice place with lots of nature to walk your dog - with no specific attraction to view - this place is perfect!Written May 11, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
