Top spot for the family!! We had a weekend down in mayo recently and were recommended to come and see the Land of the Giants. Weather was top notch really enjoyed all the hidden gems this park had to offer. Great for the kids and perfect picnic spot.

Excellent clean playcentre, very reasonably priced and really helpful and friendly staff. Toilets were also clean and well maintained and my little girl loved it. Will definitely be back again!

The Clogher Heritage Complex includes the Heritage Cottage and Staunton’s Forge. In the Cottage Garden there is a display of vintage farm machinery, a and a picnic area with a water feature.
The land on which the cottage and garden stands was donated by Mrs. B. Cosgrave and family of Newtown, Clogher.
The Heritage Cottage is newly constructed, built in 2003, the labour and expertise supplied by our local FÁS CE Scheme.

The restored working forge is open to visitors - Stauntons Forge, Newtown was authentically rebuilt in its former form in 1999,and it reopened in 2001.
Every effort has been made to reproduce a typical one bedroomed labourers’ cottage, it includes a cailleach (a bed in an alcove) and a loft. The loft would have been used as extra bed space but currently contains an excellent display of churns and other artifacts. Local residents have donated many of the items on display

This 1966 Golden Jubilee Memorial, officially unveiled on Easter Monday 1986, with the elongated limbs of a Giachomettie figure, is rather modest in proportions but has significant detail when examined from close-up. The original sculpture, erected in 1966, was destroyed in a storm the following year, but Des Prendergast came up with a replacement and, at last Claremorris had its 1966 Golden Jubilee Memorial officially unveiled on Easter Monday 1986. One striking feature is the the breaking of the chain that 2 restricted arm movements – a symbol of liberty on a sunny September morning in the square in Claremorris.

This sculpture, entitled 'Integration', comprising a stainless-steel globe, by the late sculptor Eddie Delaney, who was born in Crossboyne, was donated by the Delaney family to his native village on Saturday, 6th July 2013. It is situated in a specially developed park, opposite Crossboyne church, which has also been donated by the family to the local community. Delaney died in Connemara in 2009 and was buried in Crossboyne cemetery, near Claremorris; in a way the 'Integration' had followed him back to his place of birth.

The staff is very friendly and patient. She told me about the history of this shop. I feel very welcome and not a rush to buy things.

I was in Claremorris for the folk festival and walked past Shine. There was a lovely belt in the window but not on the website so I sent a message to Nina to see if I could order it. She text back to say she would come in and open the shop for myself and my friend on a Sunday morning of a Bank Holiday weekend! What a service. I'm so delighted she did, her clothes and accessories are gorgeous, reasonably priced, colorful, unique and excellent quality. Nina was a pleasure to deal with and insisted if we didn't want to buy anything that was fine. We will definitely be back! Thank you again Nina.

Two visits showed two extremes. On a Sunday afternoon there were 50 plus people inside watching several screens of Gaelic football with vid earnest. It was dark and really welcoming as so busy. Two days later at tea times a handful of people but an atmosphere of pastels and conversation. Both worthwhile experiences.

My husband and I were at the Louise Morrissey concert last nights. All the artists were excellent. We were very disappointed that Louise Morrissey sang for such a short time. I thought she would have sung for about an hour at least. She has a beautiful voice.

This old and respected establishment in Claremorris is under new management. Unfortunately the friendly family atmosphere for which Killeens is renowned, has been replaced by arrogance and condescension from the new regime. I recently questioned the quality of the Guinness being served, and was told never to return. The current operator previously managed another bar in the town, which closed, and is now reopened under new management
Is there a pattern emerging? I hope Killeens survives, as I intend to enjoy this excellent premises in the future, after the current regime has departed.
