What travellers are saying
- Jeanne C1 contributionWe attended a Wednesday matinee and would highly recommend. The script and performances were excellent. The staff are professional and friendly. The theatre is lovely and has good seats. Do be prepared for limited leg room. We will definitely be returning.Written July 31, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JoBAncaster, Canada1,562 contributionsLovely Sandy Beach and swimming area. Swimmers can go out a long ways before the water goes over their head. The beach is smaller so it does get quite packed when the weather is warm so be sure to come dirty.Written August 5, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PhotoDudeIIIToronto, Canada129 contributionsIf you are a history buff, and want to know more about the history of Port Dover (especially the fishing side), then wander on down and spend an hour getting educated. Well done displays detail the history of fishing for the town. Did you know in the 1970s Port Dover was home to the largest freshwater fishery in the world? I didn’t! Staff was friendly and welcoming.Written August 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Julie FGrimsby139 contributionsWe rode the trail from Simcoe to Port Dover and back on our e-bikes. It was shaded about 95% of the way so a great trail to ride in the summer. There were some nice bridges with pretty views along the way and lots of people bike riding. We went around 9 am and got back at about 11:30 am so it was a good ride. The Lions Park at the end of the trail in Port Dover has a nice fountain - like a pot of gold at the end. Then we headed back to Simcoe. It was getting quite hot by the end of our ride so we just finished in time. I would highly recommend this trail. I bet it is pretty in the fall as well!Written July 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- SassyLass7Toronto, Canada219 contributionsLocated right by the beach. Watch the sunsets, have an ice cream or a beverage and enjoy the view of the lake and the cottages on the hill.Written July 19, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - andy_geologyOttawa, Canada175 contributionsA short but steep walk down to the creek to see the falls. The ground can be muddy if wet. No washroom nearby. It is a nice quick stop and is located beside the McQueen Cemetery. Two for one visit! The falls are about 1-2 metres tall, but is a nice place to okay with light and shutter speed if you are a photographer. Visited in Sept.Written September 20, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- bett l6 contributionsWhat a great find! This gallery needs to be on your agenda. As a theatre goer, put this on your list. Jim is a delightful person bringing in lots of talent from all over. - andy_geologyOttawa, Canada175 contributionsInteresting to see into the history and the roles played by others. It is a shirt, but steep walk uphill that can be slippery if wet. And the staff are the friendliest and most helpful you'll ever find.
Dover Cheese always has my Stilton - which is hard to find in supermarkets.

As for the Ontario wines themselves, I’ve had better, and I’ve had worse, so this falls in the middle. As always, your mileage may vary. If you’re in the area, and like doing wine tastings, then worth the visit to see if their wines click with you. If so, great - buy some and support local!Written August 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
