Are there any pubs/restaurants within easy walking distance?
There is a fish and chip restaurant, which is licensed. The drinks are reasonable and they do more than just fish & chips - It does get busy though & we had to wait about 15 mins for a table - not a problem because it's pleasant to sit with a drink. The other alternative is to catch the train to St Ives which takes about 10 mins. The station is on the edge of the hotel car park. St Ives has loads of pubs and places to eat including a Weatherspoons.
The Carbis Bay Hotel is open to non residents and is only a short walk away - follow the path to the beach. It's worth going in just to see how the other half lives!
I can agree with the previous reply, we don't drink alcohol so did not venture to check out the local hostelries. However, I did walk up to the Tesco store a couple of times, being an ex fell runner the uphill climb didn't bother me too much, even at my age, but it did prove a heavy haul for another couple who were on our coach, they went to the local store (nearer than Tesco) and were quite 'whacked-out' on their return.
Hi. There is only 1 pub and 1 restaurant within walking both up a steep hill about 10 - 15 mins walk. The rail station however is just at the bottom of the hotel car park with a regular service into At Ives
