Just wondering how much it will cost roughly with a taxi to get to the hotel from the airport? Not sure what we should be paying and not wanting to get ripped off.
I paid at airport 1000baht
If you want hazzle free, you can ask hotel to pick you up. I guess a private sedan is maybe 1000 THB. It's just 30 min ride but not sure how well taxi drivers know this new resort, and they might have a difficulty to get a return customer(i.e. Might not be very eager to take your ride vs going to Kata/Karon/Patong). Anyway, I think you have more options from other replies.
If your planning on tripping around Phuket Island for site seeing, hire a car, it's cheaper and convenient overall for a weeks duration or more. Check out "economy car rentals". Book online early before holiday for best rates. If you choose this option make sure the hotel has parking. Many taxis and Tuk Tuk operators will try and sting you.
If you decide to not hire, the prices are about right in previous responses for a taxi from the airport. Then use as many local small open air pick-up taxis as you can, they are the cheapest.
Make sure you get a taxi with a Meyer outside the terminal at the airport (they have a little white desk which is located just outside of the main building). If I remember correctly last week it cost me about 800 Baht.
They were quite firm on their prices at the taxi stands, you might manage to get 100baht off the normal rate. For two people you might be lucky to get 700baht but for 4 or more people is around 1200 baht
