Morne Coubaril Estate Questions & Answers

Massachusetts

We are going to St. Lucia in two weeks and we are thinking of going zip-lining. The other 3 in our party are fine with this idea, but I'm afraid of heights. Just wondering about how high up the platforms are and if you feel secure while climbing to the platforms. I'd love to be able to do this because I'm sure it'd be amazing, but a bit worried about whether I'd be able to due to my fear.

You are high up- I think about 130 feet at times. BUT it's a dense rain forest so you feel like you're close to the ground. It did not feel high up or scary. There was never a time that you were peering over the edge hanging on for dear life! The platforms are large and you're always tethered. My advice would be try it. If you're scared on the first line you can easily bail before you're up in the trees. Enjoy!

Morne Coubaril was my first zip-line experience, at 66 years old, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The guides are very professional, friendly and reassuring and the scenery is so gorgeous that I soon forgot any nervousness about the height. The platforms are in trees and you are always securely teathered as you climb up the steps. I hope you have a great time.

Everything is very secure and safety is very important. We had 2 individuals with a fear of heights in our group and they both thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Visited last week and did the zip lining for the first time. Platforms are not too tall..maybe the highest is 20ft. Some steps leading up to the platforms are steep, but not unmanageable if you're in good enough shape to consider zip lining. Staff are very safety conscious. You are tethered from the moment you reach a platform until you complete your run.

I was terrified at first but once I did the first zip it was fine. I though about bailing once I got to the top but I am so glad I didn’t. The guides are amazing and will help you throughout.

I too am afraid of heights and have climbed other zip lines where I was scared to death. These are doable. The stairs felt secure and they use double lines for security. Also railings around the platforms. The guides are very closely watching you.

While I did visit the plantation while my wife went horse riding I did not zip line. I enjoyed the tour it was very educational. The zip line sounded great from the squeals of joy from the family that was doing it. Sorry I can't answer your question but go anyway and if you decide not to do it there is other stuff to do and see.
